GreasyDogMeat: He seems entirely reasonable to me. Once again fairly reasonable opinions/people are being demonized by the media/certain groups and we become more and more divided.
Youtube comments are of course lower than the gutter when it comes to interesting and useful discourse, but still, I giggled a bit when I saw the top comment:

man, i hate when i accidentally repeatedly insist that brown people are genetically more violent regardless of where they're born.
And then in response to this, a comment lower down:

no he's still right in what he's saying. i know he's not racist because i have similar views and i'm not racist... just realistic. people keep asking for an honest conversation about race, well honestly there are differences between the races so in a truly egalitarian society where race isn't an issue you will see different groups having different outcomes, which is what we have now. we see blacks excelling in sports, we see whites and asians excelling in stem fields we see jews excelling in pornography, usury, and manipulation.
I almost felt like it was some sort of joke, where the guy slowly became more and more ridiculous until it just HAD to be a parody, but looking at the other stuff the person posted, and the channels they're subscribed to, it doesn't seem so. It is quite an interesting look at how "reasonable" some people think they sound :D. I'm sorry, but I'm going to keep on pointing out that they're absolute nutters.

Are you this insecure about your beliefs that you had to go out of your way to do this?

Insecure? I fail to see the progression of your logic. How does me doing that make me insecure? You think I saw the comment and was "Hahah! What an idiot, let me see if he follows things that validate my opinion that he's a moron"? Even if that were true, how does that make me insecure about my beliefs? I was just trying to reassure myself that the guy had to be joking.

Do you believe "i know he's not racist because i have similar views and i'm not racist... just realistic." followed by "we see blacks excelling in sports, we see whites and asians excelling in stem fields we see jews excelling in pornography, usury, and manipulation" is reasonable? The author certainly did. Do you find some issue with me calling attention to its absolute moronic absurdity?

I suppose if your line of thought is "These people are the dregs of society and we shouldn't call attention to them" I can understand that, but unfortunately, I don't follow that line of thought, because such beliefs have become too common now, and we need to go back to unnormalising them, basically pointing and laughing at them. I'm all for "having a conversation" and "not dismissing peoples opinions out of hand" and whatever, but for someone like this, I fail to see how anything I could ever say to them would change their mind. It's the self-imposed isolationist bubbles I talked about earlier. It'd need "Jewish person rescues him and his family from a building on fire" levels to get this guy back on track to maybe thinking of them as equal human beings.

You do realize you are arguing with someone who fell off the left side of the evolutionary chart, right?

This is literally what you did though, you admitted to it. You admit to it with this next line, too:

Do you find some issue with me calling attention to your absolute moronic absurdity? That's what I'm doing, I just do it to people's faces instead of behind their backs because I'm not afraid of my opinions.

So, you're saying we should start mocking people for their beliefs simply because you don't hold them. How about you engage with them yourself rather than taking what they said and hiding away in a forum to mock them where they cannot defend themselves?

You're not though. You're not having a conversations with them, and you are dismissing their opinions out of hand. Hence everything you're saying here.

Edit: At least tinyE has the audacity to say something where I can read it. That's how it is done.

Of course I'm not having a conversation with him. He's a racist bigot who is from the youtube comments. Why would I sink to that level? In the very quote of my text that you posted, I said "...but for someone like this, I fail to see how anything I could ever say to them would change their mind. It's the self-imposed isolationist bubbles I talked about earlier. It'd need "Jewish person rescues him and his family from a building on fire" levels to get this guy back on track to maybe thinking of them as equal human beings".
What kind of conversation you think I should be having with him? Do you think the dude is somehow redeemable by me? Good luck, you have my leave to try and converse with him.

How did I admit I was doing that in the next line? I freely admit I posted the comment HERE because I thought it was hilarious in its stupidity, but somehow you glommed on to the idea that I was insecure because I went through the effort to check if he wasn't joking first? I still don't understand your logic.

EDIT: Wait, now you're saying I'm dismissing his opinions out of hand. Yes, I am. Go ahead and read them. Read the part I quoted in my original post. I didn't cut anything out. You think I should reconsider and reevaluate his opinion? That maybe he has a point? :D

To be fair, this entire discussion should probably have been had in YT comments to begin with.

Context, bro -- it's what's for dinner! OK, so let's start over with our shallow and trite characterizations of each other, shall we? lol

I'm not sure how what you posted is in reference to what I said. Do I really have to watch a 26 minute video that I'm uninterested in on multiple levels (Black Macklemoore? Sargon of Akkad? Who are these people? Do I need to care? This in reference to some event totally irrelevant to me?)? Can you please distil the point of the video and tell me?

The point is very, very obvious, especially as I went to the trouble of referencing "perspective", and it's this: let's look at Jontron's ill-considered, off-the-cuff buffoonery in juxtaposition to this young, black man's carefully considered claptrap, or would that not be any fun for you?

What did any of that have to do with JonTron?

Unrelated to this response, but another great view on this JonTron nonsense. I may not be left leaning, but I always appreciate people like this and I TRY to be a right leaning version of this guy's views.
