phaolo: You should be here on GOG just to play\collect old games, not to resell them : (
I wonder how many users would like you to trade their probably-fair-price offers to you for more.
avatar
apehater: thats nonsense, if everyone would just play, there would be no forum activity outside of game problems
Ok, you should be here on GOG just to play\collect\..
(omitted because obvious and not relevant to the point)-->discuss \ enjoy \ play together \ support DRMfree \ remember the old days \ feel a gaming community \ exchange games to obtain those we like to play \ etc..

Getcomposted: Update/ Amend the Trading Rules to something like:
"All games are assumed to be and meant for your own personal use, unless otherwise stated by the trader before the trade goes through. If a trader is discovered to be retrading games without the previous owner's prior knowledge and consent, the trader is [insert penalty - banned from trading? entered onto the "bad dog! bad! *hit with newspaper*" list?]"

Sachys: NO.

trading is trading - if you trade 300 stcok on the UK market for say... russian oil... do you expect the buyer to keep them forever. No, you dont.

If you gift someone a nice vase around christmas time (when theyve asked for it), do you expect them to enjoy it and make use of it once given that thing they desired? Yes. Yes you do.

Now, stop being a bunch of willy-nilly twat bastards, please!

If YOU want to put a bunch of rules on YOUR trade offerings, make it clear.
If YOU intend to ask for something as a gift recipient with the intention of trading it later. FUCK OFF!

PRETTY FUCKING SIMPLE EH?!
yes but if you do so, you'll miss the great opportunity to call someone out and bitch about it, to take care that everyone sees you high moral standarts (on an net forum lol). amund likes it and he isnt the only one i guess.

Sachys: ...and this thread is turning a little towards a bitchy witch hunt by the look of it folks.
I think it's sane to have one thread for the dirty laundry. It's up to people to form an opinion with those informations or not, as it's their prerogative to trade stuff here. I think it's good to have people telling what's on their mind, it's an opportunity to better oneself. But as often, when procuring care for the community, sometimes the medication has nasty secondary effects (that's why blue stuff knows only one treatment : temporary amputation :-)
null.

Edit: actually, fuck all of this off. Nobody is going to listen and go "oh, thats right - that actually worked for ages until we allowed trading profiteers, paypal profiteers and whatnot to enter the trading thread and now we dont have a clue of what used to happen previously..."
Personally, I don't care what happen to a game once I've traded it away. That person could sell it, retrade it, dress it in a pretty dress and invite it to tea, whatever, it's their game to with as they wish.
I do however understand it from the point of view of people who see trading as another aspect of gifting. And for those people, I will attempt to abide by their implied wishes in a trade.
I think the best thing for a trade is to always be honest and ethical about it. I've said it before, but I'll restate it - a trade is meant to be mutually beneficial.
That's all. :)
Guys! Let's keep this thread about scammers, ok?

My considered opinion is that if you trade a game you own for a game you want, or if you trade a game you own for a game you plan to gift or trade elsewhere, what is the difference? It's a barter exchange - once the two parties agree to the exchange, neither has a right to tell the other person what to do with the merchandise....

Consider that I barter my homegrown strawberries for some homegrown squash. I bake the squash and eat it at dinner. But the buyer of my strawberries resells them to some couple who uses them in some odd sexual strawberry ritual under the light of the full moon.... Well at that point, those aren't my strawberries anymore - in fact only the squash is mine to do with as I please - bake with cinnamon and eat OR plaster all over my lover man ;-p

Now if I had gifted those strawberries....THAT is an entirely different story. If the first person told me they planned to make strawberry shortcake for his dying mother but instead sold them to sex ritual moon freaks, I have a right to be pissed off - see? (Actually the idea of strawberry sex rituals would have been fine with me but don't fucking lie to me...)

Anyway, ultimately it's about telling the truth and not lying - at least as far as I'm concerned with my gifts. With my trades, I also tell the truth - (for example, I sometimes trade for games I know my son wants so I say that in my PM to the trader. I also say it might take a bit before the game is redeemed cause my son is notorious for not responding in a timely manner - so don't freak out if the traded game isn't redeemed asap).

MAHAYO is all about communicating openly and honestly. It's about connecting with other people around the globe on a really human level. It's about stopping crappy, greedy, nasty behavior. Let's make this forum mean something true and real and human. I mean isn't that what 99% of us truly want - people we know and care about, that we talk to and connect with? Afterall, if we can't do this on one rather small gaming forum is there any hope for the world at all?

Many - if not most - vegetables are fruits. That's because "fruit" is a botanical term and "vegetable" is a culinary term.

I know, nobody cares. But people keep acting like it's such a surprise that a tomato is a fruit. It's also a vegetable. No biggie.

EDIT: Not "most." Not by a long shot. But many are.

Fruits are the part of a plant that contain the material necessary to reproduce the plant. Vegetables are the part of the plant that do not reproduce the plant. Culinary rules are different - fruits are designated as sweet while vegetables are designated as savory.
