Matchstickman: Anyone else getting fun Virus notifications from AVG on the new downloader?
AVG has generally lot of false positives. Make sure to update your virus file definitions. Currently it seems AVG is not detecting either the setup file or the executable itself as virus according to VirusTotal. Links below:

Starkrun: So Ive started to re-downloading my entire collection for the patch update notification... 87GB of data... since I'll be using the native naming convention I'm hoping I'll never need to do this again to receive updates and notices ^_^
avatar
Destro: Patch notifications will pushed from the My Account to the Downloader when a patch (or other extra) will be added to a game you've purchased earlier. You don't need to have your entire My Account downloaded for this to work.
you are magnificent! -- on a side note im using the "stable" release and have been getting a lot of crashes when coming from a suspend or hibernation (more so here) state should i send you or fallen_zen my logs? sometimes it'll just crash out, this usually happens while loading the downloader full 20+ deep and going away for awhile... no corrupted downloads though sofar so good

Please send all logs to me, thanks.
The original versions of Broken Sword 1 and 2 are not distributed in chunks like other GOGs are. Despite being bonuses, they are still GOGs and are also quite sizeable (~600MB). If possible, they should be distributed in chunks like any other GOG instead of downloaded as a flat file.
Just a tiny thing: when I add extras to for downloading - I get no pop-up notification. The same after extras are already downloaded.

My GOG Downloader 3.1.0 crashes each time it tries to merge bonus videos for "The Witcher 2". I've started a debugger and it said the exception System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown. The GOG window is visible and it shows the merge process just started with 0% done.

Interestingly the The Witcher 2 game files were downloaded correctly, even though they are twice as big....

I'm using Windows XP SP3 32-bit.

I played a little this afternoon with the GoG downloaded version 3.1 and I am pretty sure it has some bad memory leak somewhere.

After sometime it took 3.9GB of memory, and it wasn't doing anything at the time, it had finished downloading what I asked it to download.

So it's not surprising you have out of memory exception on your 32bits system.
This memory usage might be a little excessive...

Not sure what's caused it to use that much. I added a few games to the queue to make sure I had the latest versions and downloaded the bonuses for them as well. Checked task manager a bit later to see why Youtube was staggering so much.

Looks like this is why.

Fallen_Zen: We’re proud to introduce our new GOG.com Downloader. We’re releasing it in two versions: the current stable release 3.0 (http://www.gog.com/downloader), and a beta
version 3.1,
My always-on, always-ato-home system runs Linux. I only boot windows temporarily on the laptop for game playing purposes.

Thus, your universal queue feature sounds quite useful to me, but only if I can have the queue being processed on Linux.

Can you document the interface so that a reimplementation would be possible? Failing that, can you test your application under Mono? The reimplementation is definitely preferable though, so just telling us how to hook into the queue is ideal.

do you experience the same with version 3.0 (stable)?
gooday destro, i've pmed a crash problem to you with my logger file

anyone else having trouble getting the downloader to launch from the browser? whether it's open already or not, putting a game in the queue crashes it. running win7 64 bit. happens when launching from ie or chrome. version is 3.0.25 (stable).
I can't install the downloader.
Everytime I try to install it,the installer freezes.does anybody else has this problem?
I still can't get the beta 3.1 to do anything for me.

Log file only shows:
1333338657 Log started
1333338657 init started
1333338657 Requesting https://api.gog.com/en/downloader2/status/beta/
1333338671 Request error response

EDIT:
Also seems to take forever for it to log in... almost a minute (without timing it to be exact).

This has been verified and fixed and only occurs while merging Bonuses (those rather large). We will push a fix with a future update.

New downloader is looking good so far. No problems while testing a couple of small games along with their bonuses. That feature was sorely needed.

One feature that I don't understand why is missing though is why the user can't chose the download location. It seems easy enough to add a setting in the options window to define the download folder.

Other than that I quite liked it. Just don't forget to keep it simple and optional. :)
