I fell for Daggerfall but it kept stabbing me in the back, I loved it nonetheless.
Well, I want to love every game I buy; why wouldn't I? We'll limit this list to games I feel like I should love, based on my own tastes and the recomendations of others, but don't.

Final Fantasy VII -- you know, Squall may be kind of a mopy jerk, but at least he has a personality. Cloud is just such a gaping void, it's hard for me to care what happens to him. Sephiroth isn't much either (but ... but he's so pretty!), which wouldn't bother me, since bland villains are a grand Final Fantasy tradition, except that people keep pretending he isn't. I dislike the materia system; I don't really like anything about this game (OK, there are a few cutscenes that really impressed me, at least at the time). I wouldn't say I hate it, and I think I liked it as a kid, but my plan to (re)-play the entire series in chronological order hit a brick wall with this game, and I just couldn't muster the will to continue. What a lot of other people consider a great high-point of the series, I view as one of the lows. It's too bad.

Baldur's Gate -- I mean, I can certainly see how this game must have been a revelation compared to the D&D games that came before it. I found it frustrating and dull, though, and I thought the way the party is handled wasn't great; lots of characters, but they weren't well-balanced, or terribly interesting. I did enjoy the degree of exploration, just wandering off the screen in a new direction, opening up a new map, seeing what's up.

A special mention goes to the alignment system; I played a good party, but I wanted to use Viconia because I needed a cleric, so I'd play as a good character, but periodically murder a random stranger to keep her happy.

I do plan to try the sequel, which I hear is a great improvement; just one of those things I mean to do but never get around to.

Ocarina of Time - Kind of boring, kind of empty. Yes, it's 3D, but I don't get it.
I thought I was in love with Doom once. She was dark and gory, and had a nasty sense of humor. She was great.

I asked her out, she declined. I went all out and proposed but she told me she was moving to Vegas to open a piercing shop with her biker friends. So yes, I truly wanted to love Doom, but she was too much game for me.

pimpmonkey2382.313: I thought this was going to be a different topic. My reply was going to be:

"Yes I wanted to love the disc version of betrayal at krondor..but the hole wasn't big enough."
Yeah I realized how the topic title could have been taken...in an other direction, but by then it was too late
I really wanted to love Deus Ex 2. But it just doesn't let me.

If we were married that would be grounds for divorce.

you don't need to look for any sort of grounds to divorce Deus Ex 2. It's natural, nobody will blame you. Although I would question why marry it in the first place.
Fallout 1 & 2
Metal Gear series
Final Fantasy series
Elder Scroll series
Fallout Scroll series (xD)
Mass Effect trilogy
Dragon Age Origins (and Inquisition)
Resident Evil series (after the 3rd one)
Legend of Zelda series
Pokémon series (after Generation 2)

And I'm pretty sure there are more ^^u I could never bring myself to like those games. They bore me after 2 or 3 hours, or just humble me with the size of the world (open by the way) not knowing where I should go and in which order so I can better appreciate the world in its COMPLETION, or simply frustrate me (I just hate stealth games, I suck at being discrete). Also clickfest games like Diablo or Torchlight get too repetitive for me. Sometimes I just feel like a gaming snob o.O
I really tried to like mass effect 1, but i couldn't stand how lifeless it all seemed; it felt way too fake, and the elephant aliens' voices were way too silly for me.
Ocarina of Time - I love The Legend of Zelda (NES) and most other LOZ games, but as much as I tried, I couldn't get into this one.

Halo series - Was expecting fun, got boring gameplay with an uninspired atmosphere. Funnily enough, I kind of did enjoy Halo 4 which all the hardcore fans seem to hate.

Metal Gear Solid series - Especially after playing The Thief series. I just don't understand how a game made in 1998 could have better stealth mechanics than practically all stealth games that came after.

Final Fantasy VII, II, X, XIII (series) - I absolutely adore the Final Fantasy series, but I absolutely despised these 4. Haven't played XII so I can't talk about that.

Minecraft - Felt like a toy rather than a game. I liked the concept, but hated the execution. In turn, I actually have quite enjoyed Terraria.

...And some more, the list can get quite extensive so I had to cut it off somewhere. Generally though, I tend to agree with most of the gaming community as a whole when it comes critically acclaimed games.
Vampire TMB: I have tried 3 times and I just can't get into it. I love RPGs and I love vampires but VTMB is just a no go for me. I do use the unofficial patches but the game is just too slow for me. But I will give it another go soon because G-damn I will try to love it if I can.
Every popular and long lived RTS, MOBA and multiplayer FPS. All the games I like seem to have a multiplayer base with the lifetime of one month. :(
For me: not games, but films/movies.
Half Life 2 - it makes me sick. physically.

Heroes 2 - "it's just as good, if not better, as 3".... nope

Braid, Far Cry, Stalker - just don't click for me.
Planescape Torment. Started it twice. Haven't played for a few months now. It's so critically acclaimed, but I really have trouble with how the game world looks. In general I'm OK with the interface of older games, but with Planescape I just can't get into the game.I really want to like this and finish it, but if I'm honest with myself I'd rather spend my game time with other games.
