Not that anyone knows or care about this, but...

Has anyone spoken with good old games about basilisk games (makers of eschalon series). They're friggin awesome games that really dont get made too often. Ive spoken with the maker and the forums they're and they are waiting for good old games to make a move.

Those games are really alot like oldschool ultima (single player rpg)
I sent over 100 e-mails to Blizzard telling them they should put their games on GOG. Also, some of them were about how Starcraft 2 sucked ass...

Barry_Woodward: Iron Brigade
That almost sounds like a sequel to Thunder Brigade. It's not though, from what I can see, shame, I enjoyed the later (despite me finding it too difficult).

Anyhow, this inspired me to send an e-mail to Bluemoon, asking for Thunder Brigade and Mars. Just hoping the IP's aren't owned by iEntertainment Network and Hasbro, respectively, as it was they who published the games.

I think there was reference on one of these threads to GOG rejecting Eschalon for some , (presumably quite odd) reason. Is the series relatively obscure?
Myself? Not much. I'll post this instead: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2785995

tfishell: Just a reminder to personally contact those who have the rights to games you would like to see here (or ask them if they still have rights), don't just leave it up to GOG to eventually get to them (unless you honestly do not care that much ;-). Even if nothing happens right away, planting the idea in their head may bring about the results that you wanted. (If you receive a response about the rights being in "limbo", etc., I would think you would be better off for at least /knowing/ what's up with a particular game.)

I suppose this might work best with small companies. Bigger ones might lose the email in The Bureaucracy, but I think sending an email, tweet, etc. might still be a good idea.

(Free "+"s for all your hard work! ;)
But please, don't harass them too much.

If anyone knows WHO to e-mail these days about the SSI Gold Box games I am happy to do so... problem being I think it would need to e-mail about 50 different people!

Well yeah, don't overdo it, but at least try once.
I need to find out who to contact about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ...
I tweeted Dave Gilbert:

@WadjetEyeGames Do you have any plans to sell "The Shivah" on GOG.com?

He responded:

@Barry_Woodward If they take it, than yes!

I contacted the guys from "Sunlight Interactive" a while ago and they were quite interested to bring up their classic "Game Tycoon" here. I have no idea what happened with it, but the game is great, and as my original copy got broken, they were so nice to send me another copy for free :)

This is what I call customer service ;)
Call me old fashioned, but why should I do GOGs job? I pay them to get the games here. It is in their best interest to supply me with games that I want to buy. I'm not doing their job for them.

Additionally, not everybody is such kind and professional person like Barry or Ubivis. Many companies would probably be pissed about constant spamming by some immature idiots with no manners.

And if a company wants to have their games on GOG, they should contact GOG themselves. If they really need some random customer to do their business for them, then they really should refocus their business strategy.

SimonG: snip...
hehe, this is right. Too much of this could result in a opposite result than intended.

This is how I did the contact:
- Gone to the forum of sunlight interactive to find out about the current development of "Game Tycoon 2"
- decided that it would be great to play the game again and inserted the CD into my drive (CD-Drive gone like crazy and I was unable to install the game)
- Wrote a little post about how I like the game and I am unable to play the classic anymore because of a not functional CD
- They contacted me by PM and asked for an address to send a replacement CD (nice work guys)
- I gave them my address and just asked if they can imagine to have the english version of the game to be published on GOG (the German Version is avilable @ mcgame)
- They liked the idea but are not in charge for the English Version (rights are with another publisher, but they want to get in contact with them).

I think, this way will only work with small companies, as the customer support of big comanies is mostly s**t. But this might help others to get in contact with other small developers that others can't think of at the moment :)
Well, I wrote to those guys http://www.wyrmkeep.com/ and asked them about Inherit the Earth.

They said they'll look into it, but sadly nothing happened.

I guess it's the question of money, as they are selling that game for 17$ on their store. I'd gladly pay twice that much to have it here, but I guess GOG wouldn't be interested in such deal (and I suppose most gamers too) and wyrmkeep guys are probably not interested in getting less money per copy.

But I'd appreciate someone else sending them an email.

Also, I wondered about the rights to I have no mouth and I must scream. It couldn't be done without Harlan Ellison, but I don't know if anyone else has rights to it.

I have no mouth and I must scream was developed by the same company that developed Inherit the Earth, and since rights for ItE are with original creators, maybe IhnmaIms rights are with Ellison alone? Then it would be easy to contact him, as he has his webpage and he's selling retail copies of the game there.

Plus, getting in touch with ItE guys could let GOG to get info about other The Dreamers Guild/Cyberdreams games (Dark Seed I and II - although that would probably involve Giger to sell those games, CyberRace)

Anyway, I hope GOG has something really exciting for us this fall.

ps. I think there's really big problem with some games not here yet, when they should be.

I really don't understand why we can't buy Settlers (except part 2), Albion (other Blue Bytes games present), Panzer General, Pacific General, Allied General, Fantasy General, Kyrandia, other Sim Maxis games, some Sierra games (Freddy Pharkas, Laura Bow) and many more.

I understand that we may never see Dune or Blade Runner (if GOG can't secure rights to those games from rightholders), but other games should already be here.
