Just a reminder to personally contact those who have the rights to games you would like to see here (or ask them if they still have rights), don't just leave it up to GOG to eventually get to them (unless you honestly do not care that much ;-). Even if nothing happens right away, planting the idea in their head may bring about the results that you wanted. (If you receive a response about the rights being in "limbo", etc., I would think you would be better off for at least /knowing/ what's up with a particular game.)

I suppose this might work best with small companies. Bigger ones might lose the email in The Bureaucracy, but I think sending an email, tweet, etc. might still be a good idea.

(Free "+"s for all your hard work! ;)

I wouldn't mind sending an email but I think I've in the past once or twice and both emails didn't arrive, I received some auto message that the domain was down.

Currently most games I wanted here are already here and I already have a huge backlog but what you say is probably true.

Considering we already have EA here who would I contact to ask about rights for Clive Barker's Undying? I assume the developers are involved but their company is probably gone now.

Yeah, my backlog is huge as well and I shouldn't be buying more games. However, I still would like to see "Hardwar" on here. It is an absolute gem of a game, but it's been abandonware for most of its existance and there is no obvious way to contact the rights holders. If anyone has heard of this game and knows someone to contact I would be happy to let them know they are wanted on GOG.
Inspiration! ;)

GOG works hard to acquire rights all they time. I support that effort through wishlisting and buying games currently available.
I did what I could to bring geneforge here. I dont think I will have to lift a finger though when it comes to bringing the avernum series here. The work is in progress. I think that the next game to make it here will be Avernum Escape from the Pit (so a newer game version is here), then followed by Avernum 1-6.

Jeff and the gog team were both glad of my wanting it (especially good old games). Good old games were nothing but glad that I told them of it half a year ago and I was surprised they didnt think of jeff. It makes me glad that there still are professional game companies that know what a good old game really is.

Good on you sir. Even though I own most of the Spiderweb games that I want I would still pay gog for Exile (particularly exile 3 but if all three Exiles were packaged with BoE(now open source/freeware), Nethergate, etc. I would happily buy them!), Avernum (I own 5 and 6 and BoA), Avadon (though I am not so interested in this game I would buy it to support gog...and mess around with it to see if it is better than it looks to me), etc.
I sent a line to Deep Shadows and Game Factory Interactive earlier this year about bringing Xenus II White Gold and The Precursors to GOG. Never got any sort of reply back. Neither of them have been at all popular on the wishlist, either.

I contacted Epic about releasing their older Epic MegaGames titles and Unreal Tournament 3 on GOG. Same business with ZeniMax, 3D Realms, Sega, Capcom, Square-Enix, Valve, and so on. I never seem to get any response, it's probably all rather pointless, but I suppose it's better to be able to say that I tried.

Fallout 3 just showed up on GamersGate, by the way. It seems to be Steamworks. That's really odd, since I bought my copy from Direct2Drive and it was SecuROM. It seems like everything these days is Steamworks. Maybe GamersGate doesn't even care anymore, perhaps they prefer selling Steamworks titles because they sell better or something. Even Paradox published titles like Warlock are Steamworks. A sorry state of affairs, it all makes talking to publishers seem futile.
I contacted the developer of Knights of the Chalice and tried my best to convince him to join up on GOG but he basically said no :(. At least he responded, though, so that's a start.

I am also wondering if we could press Basilisk Games to stop worrying about not being big enough of a developer and just contact GOG themselves.

I tweeted John Passfield:

@johnpassfield Would you ever allow GOG.com to offer your classic game "Flight Of The Amazon Queen" on their website?

He responded:

@Barry_Woodward Yes, we actually have something planned!

Vote for it on the wishlist:

Flight Of The Amazon Queen

I've contacted Flatrock Software to get some of the old Softdisk games on here (Catacomb 3D + Trilogy, Dangerous Dave) and got a response that seems positive.

Also tried to contact people for:
- Kult: Heretic Kingdoms
- Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand
No response from any email I tried.

I might have tried others, but I don't remember.
I tweeted and emailed a few people. The rest is up to GOG, its in their interest to do a better job, I can pirate the game if I really wanted to play it so badly.

EDIT: GOG pays their workers to do their job, I certainly am not going to do it for them.

I tweeted Double Fine's Tim Schafer:

@TimOfLegend Would you ever consider selling Costume Quest and Stacking on GOG.com?

He responded:

@Barry_Woodward I would!

Vote for them on the wishlist:

Costume Quest
Stacking

I tweeted Double Fine's Brad Muir:

@MrMooEar Is there any chance we'll see Iron Brigade on GOG.com?

He responded:

@Barry_Woodward hmmm.... probably not? I don't know if they allow Games for Windows Live up on that thing. :(

I follow up with:

@MrMooEar Is there any possibility of stripping out "Games for Windows Live" someday in the future or would that bork things up too much?

He replied:

@Barry_Woodward Microsoft owns the IP, so probably not. But was Games for Windows Live our decision? No Comment. ;D

Vote for it on the wishlist just in case GOG ever signs Microsoft:

Iron Brigade

Thats good of you but I will say something about that developer. I know Pierre and he's a great guy. He might not want to do it now, but when he sees the success of his new game, he'll be forced to change his mind.

Pierre Begue (the developer of knights of the chalice) will be making a d and d 4th edition isometric scenario roleplaying game where you the user and him the creator, will be able to make scenarios.

You can create a party of up to 21 races and 16 classes (all of which featured in d and d) and with all of the rules to those). It doesnt get any better than that for a turnbased rpg fan.

I doubt he will change his mind now, but in the future its possible.
