Telika: But then... what if...
gog lied, about the game being good ?
:insert conspiracy keanu reeves meme:
DProject: Then they did. Destructive only repeated what GOG said -> no court case. But the question was: "what if the devs will start saying GOG rejected it for
political reasons" when in reality all they've said is that "we can't sell your product, period". Then it's a court case. Thus they are not gonna do that, unless they're financially suicidal.
Yeah, my point was not really about trials and stuff, only about the argument "it was a good game because gog said so therefore it is a case of political oppression". "Good game but" could be a mere polite answer.
But such speculations and metaspeculations and branching postmetaspeculations are pointless. Just like this ridiculous crisis. Even if it turned out a good games, there are excellent games that have been turned down by gog, without people to start screaming and setting themselves on fire in front of their offices.
As Potzato said, this is just a vehicle for political statements. I'd be surprised if anyone here actually cared for the game's quality. All the insta-fanboyism comes solely from the "it is a game where you can do this and that" aspect, and this suffices for an insta-cult status (complete with martyrdom). Rendering these gratuitous speculations even more moot (do we say mooter ? i like the sound of mooter).
