omega64: It was pretty buggy and badly optimized at launch, don't know if it's been improved.
I was referring to the design though. ;P
For example: The artstyle looks great, sadly at levels past the first it makes parts of levels quite hard to see.
I sometimes got stuck while trying to run away. It's rough around the hedges.

Spectre: because there's plenty of other overrated games on gog now.

tinyE: That's true. Now if you would give me an actual answer to my question, I'm all ears. :D
It takes two people for a "we" to care, doesn't it?

Are you saying that since there are some bad games on GOG we might as well have all the bad games?

Maybe start by defining what a "bad" game is, what criteria is there. Otherwise its just opinion and no two people with have exactly the same opinion.

One thing that annoys me is when games are not accepted but no reason is given. There are instances of games, like DrDungeons games, which have not been accepted, with no reason given, even though equivalent games are on here.

I would personally like to see the criteria and results, probably so would the developers.

I agree on that.

Sure, but keep in mind that :
1/ Gog is under no legal obligation to bring forth justifications.
2/ Gog never claimed to be perfect. They'd be boring if they were.

Refusal to conduct business is dependent on more factors than mere quality. I know shopkeepers who crossed off many references from their catalog just because they disliked their supplier on a personnal level. A lost opportunity, sure, but their business is still thriving. One doesn't need to behave rationally.

Refusing a business relationship with someone for a particular reason is perfectly rational.

I was rather thinking of the meaning of rationality as used in economics.

That was kind of my point. It's completely subjective. Thus, you either open the doors to all games, or someone decides what you do have and what you don't. In this case, the ones Spectre regards as overrated were considered 'good' by some measure of GOG's staff and Hatred was considered bad.

I didn't know it would differ. Is that something you studied? I'm not saying I'd read a whole book about it, but still, could be interesting.

There are indeed many, many books on the subject, but if you just want the gist of the idea, those two Wikipedia entries should be useful.

Ehhh. Does this deal with the most minimalistic approach to the end goal, being the number of dollars being received by the end of the month in GOGland, and no other factor, like brand image, long-term alliances, market positioning, etc.?

The nature of Gog's goal doesn't matter. The point is no less valid whether they want to rip us or change the world toward a utopia.

Basically, that it's no surprise if one doesn't always make the best choices.
