More than suspicion, just appearing less townie, as Lift will remember.

On last Day, I mentioned that it would be good to have more from Lift on D1. I maintained that he was having too easy a D-1: voting for the guy who did something controversial at the beginning, then staying there, adding little of value. This is akin to low effort tunnelling. Of course, this does not mean that Lift needs to be scum. He has a good RL excuse, just as SPF did (SPF's was better, IMHO, and he did much more of an effort when he started feeling better).

So far, I like that he is considering the doings of more than just one player.

Also, it is always fun to have a PWR role, I guess. It gives you more to think about. But think of the championship game in MU where Trent was playing (he was N1 NK, IIRC?). There were two town JOATS packed with motion sensor shots and stuff like that. It was all helping deduction, never being a replacement for thinking, instead of a blunt yes/no proposition. But of course a cop in the game can lead to dramatic turns, and that adds to the excitement as well.

But it might be also that I am missing being in a pure deduction game. If that is to happen, maybe I fall in love with it or maybe I miss having PWRs spread around, and become more appreaciative of them afterwards.


I do not know what to say. After having played as town, neutral, mafia and then full circle back to town, I guess that all have something for a player that is looking for aspects like problem-solving, nice reading pieces and fun.

From the glimpse this player has had of Mafia so far:

Town: Do not need to lie at all, if you play like I do. You can focus on problem solving (something I love) and forget about how you look to the others (this might be risky, though, if you take it too far, I guess). Thrill to find out what will happen at the end of the game-day and at the beginning of the next day. Thinkin hard when performing night actions, taking calculated risks, making your bets. Those who want to kick back and relax seemingly find room to do so, probably even more if they are assigned a VT role.

Mafia: If you try, you can find problems to solve. Although some players can enjoy not having to solve any problem if they do not want to. People who love lying will feel at home, too. Thrill when someone sniffs at one of your comrades. Fun, too.

Third Party: This is where you feel most in guerrilla mode of all factions. Highest effort of all. I had a comrade, and it was both of us against the world. For those completely alone, it must be even more intense.

But of course it all depends on what you want to make of the game: going full fair play and truth-saying or not; being courteous in speech and action or not; solving problems or not; playing it intensely or not. People can do any of that in any faction. It depends on what they bring with them, for that game (circumstances change, as well).

Update on the reads, compared to D1.

Lift, a bit better. He needs to keep sharing his impressions about the whole of the game situation.

ZFR, the weekend did its magic for good. Composed and focused on the task at hand.

For the rest, in their line of D1. Nothing outstanding so far.
