The more I think about this the more likely it seems to me. There is no "theoretically" about it.

One of them lied: there is no doubt about that. And as was pointed out, none of them had a reason lie: as Town they wouldn't lie; as Scum scum!agent had no reason to lie and bring unnecessary attention to himself, and scum!trent could simply have corroborated agent's claim without the attention.

So what happened?

Here is my theory:
Joe didn't reroll all scum. All he did was reroll a single Town to replace micro/dedo (possibly with a minor other role balancing change). So agent thinks of a clever gambit: he'll out his team and claim it's changed because no one would expect scum to do it, right? Only he has no way of communicating it to his buddies, and when trent comes along he thinks "What on earth is that idiot doing??? He's outing us all just like that?" and instead of playing along he decides to bus agent.
So that's where they are now. They can't retract their statements now, so the best they can hope for is that when one of them dies, the other gets good Town points.

I say we lynch trent next even after agent flips Mafia.

I mostly agree with the above from zfr. Being in disagreement with agent in no way clears trent. So I think they both have to die for the greater good... Except if new facts come to light in D2, which I don't expect. I see no point in continuing this day so I'm willing to drop the hammer if nobody has anything else to add.

Just go for it I'd say. Maybe by today evening if anyone has anything else to say.

Sounds good to me. Your theory sounds pretty good to me (the master of crazy theories). I was already on board with "agent flipping scum wouldn't clear trent", but I didn't have any ideas for why this might have happened with both of them as scum.

Yes, it sounds like a solid theory. Of course town-trent would speak out against a lie uttered by agent too. But then the question remains why agent would come out like that at all, if he is scum.

One way or another, agent has to be today's lynch. If he flips town, trent has to be lynched tomorrow. If agent flips scum, trent is still likely scum but we can talk about that tomorrow, when we have more information than we have now.

I agree with this. While I'd happily lynch trent tomorrow, I'll wait and see if there's any more information available following the night actions, so that a more informed decision can be made.

For the glory: agent, trent and SPF. Agent and trent for obvious reasons, and SPF purely on past rivalry.
