Another Freedom Friday at Desura! (Thanks to IAmSinistar for directing me here.)

Games offered today are (descriptions taken from the game pages):
Weathered, a short experimental 'Noire style 1950's inspired Point and Click game'.
Once upon an apocalypse, a minimalist post-zombie-apoc retro game
Project Visitor, a fast paced MMOFPS/RTS hybrid
Flix, a simple and challenging action puzzle game
Gravity Bone

No summary available, but check out the sequel - Thirty Flights of Loving - to get an idea of the game.
Desura Freedom Friday is upon us again, unleashing the following freebies:

NextWorld - Fight for your victory and the victory of his team in NextWorld. Create a multiplayer game and play with your friends or make new friends in the game!

Logic Bomb - Test your logic abilities in this bomb defusion puzzle game. Cut all the wires to disconnect the clock from the explosive but be sure not to cut the wrong one!

Western Bound - Can YOU outwit the outlaw? Western Bound is a round-based card game where you move through a desert in hopes of collecting enough keys before your opponent does.

Earth Overclocked (alpha) - As the only person with the technology to set things right, you step into your time machine and travel back 900 years to change the course of history.
From the creators of Primordia - Salt - is a traditional, albeit small, point-and-click adventure about the aftermath of a shipwreck in the Antarctic, loosely based on the doomed Franklin expedition. It’s a somewhat longer experience, but -- unlike Raisin -- it's only good for one play-through.

Thanks, I like the premise. Both games should be good additions to the One-Day Games list as well, so I'll pop them on there.

It's not a game, and it isn't free, but if you like the setting of the Franklin expedition, then I can't resist pitching a very good book by German author Sten Nadolny, The Discovery of Slowness. Sometimes, when I'm playing an MMORPG, and enter a pick-up group whose entire mission planning consists of shouting "Gogogogogogo!", and whose life span is even shorter, I wish that reading this book was mandatory in schools. ;)

Wow, thank you for the recommendation. That book seems quite up my street, I've wishlisted it for my next round of acquisition.

On a related topic, I'm also considering picking up the new release, Arthur Conan Doyle's Dangerous Work: Diary of an Arctic Adventure. Nothing compares to maritime exploration for adventure, discovery, and adversity. It's the closest analogue to fictional representations of space travel that we'll see in our lifetime.

Interesting choice of source material, I hope it is handled tastefully. Sounds like the dev had the best intentions in heart, thankfully.

Oh, and congratulations on the 900 rep milestone! :)
