Geralt_of_Rivia: To be honest, I think most people here are older.
And the oldest games I still own the originals of are from 1978. Yes, computers already existed back then. ;-)
Are you implying something there, mister? Yes, I know there have been people who have been there since the beginning, and I fully acknowledge they had games back then. But I think it's come to a point where even "our" generation has a place in gaming history. And the oldest games I still own the originals of are from 1978. Yes, computers already existed back then. ;-)
I've personally been through at least four or five different console generations. I "grew up" on the N64, but I did have a short experience with the SNES.

Agrees. Yay I'm not the only fossil here =P It was all about Pac Man back in my day and the dreaded E.T. atari game I unfortunately got yet miraculously completed....

Navagon: Most of us? You do realize that most of the games here are older than you, right? :P You can hardly have a nostalgia trip about that time you were an itch in your dad's pants.
Most of the games here aren't that old. And what most people consider classics "today" would agree with me. But I'm not disagreeing with you in that regard. I fully acknowledge games like Akalabeth, which have a place in history, but only that. They're way after an era where people would care, I think. That's what I'm saying.

Geralt_of_Rivia: Yes, I have to out myself to own that game (and having finished it back then), too. ;-) But I don't think that E.T. was as bad as it was later said to be. It certainly wasn't a great game and there were lots of better games on the good old A2600 but there were also more than enough games that were worse.
The worst problem of the game was most likely that it was impossible for the game to live up to the hype that surrounded it because of the movie.

I'm going back where I found the games and search better. Maybe I've missed it there.
Sorry to hear ya lost Age of Empire 3. I still have my big AoE box collection set.....somewhere..... Anywho, always ebay if your partial to getting the physical copy back.
l0rdtr3k: I was desperate when I thought I lost them. Even though I lost Age of Empires 3 with the Warchiefs expansion :(
Briareos262: I can understand that. I can see myself having a full on anxiety attack with my heart racing if I ever lost certain game series. Looking at Shin Megami shrine >_> Sorry to hear ya lost Age of Empire 3. I still have my big AoE box collection set.....somewhere..... Definitely some classics for me in there, I have fond memories of playing Combat Flight Simulator 3. I loved playing a demo of Far Cry back in the day as well on my old PC, Battlefield 2 is a classic as well.

CFS3 still is one of my favourite flight sims. And I've lost so many hours on BF2. I remember upgrading my rig just so I could play it.

今日は僕の誕生日です。今、僕は二十歳です。

I upgraded for BF2 and Medieval II, ah, whole weeks worth of time put into those two alone. I also played tons of AOE 2-3 around that time.AnimalMother117: Definitely some classics for me in there, I have fond memories of playing Combat Flight Simulator 3.
