BreOl72: Once you've downloaded your e-(comic-)books, DRM should be of no concern anymore.
I'm pretty sure, I can read my (downloaded/installed) e-books, even if there's no online connection available.
But backing up is not possible, and if you lose access to your account/Amazon's services for whatever reason, using what you "bought" on another device becomes considerably harder.

UPDATE ON DARK HORSE ANDROID APP - PLEASE READ!

As of March 25, 2024, the Dark Horse Digital app for Android will no longer be supported. We have determined that focusing our development resources on our webstore and iOS app is the best path forward for Dark Horse Digital.

The app will be removed from the Google Play Store on March 25, 2024. After this date you will be able to read books already downloaded, but will no longer be able to download books to the app.

You can still access your comics collection!

Purchased comics can be read online at the Dark Horse Digital website. Go to digital.darkhorse.com in a web browser, log into your DHD account, and click on “BOOKSHELF” to find your collection. An internet connection is required.

We hope you will continue to discover and enjoy Dark Horse comics and books on your Android device, using our mobile website.

I promptly unsubscribed from their newsletter and won't be buying any comics from them again. Unless those are being offered as a DRM-free bundle and they could be bothered to include CBZ versions.

Same. This is really embarassing behaviour by a company. Luckily I didn't buy too many things from them, mostly a few bundles ("Conan", "Alien"), but still ... I wonder if they will be sued because of this.

There is a python script on Github you can use to download everything in your library as .cbz for a drm-free copy.

Repeats from the previous Spawn bundle, for sure, but seems it still might be worth it

It seems many of the new additions in the bundle are Pdf only, which sucks. Usually Image books are offered as high quality Cbz as well.
