CarrionCrow: Yeah....take any humor, slap a whole lot of stammering onto it, some nervous awkward pauses, the occasional cough, a fair bit of technical trouble from my crap-level internet....
It'll be fantastic. -laughs-

penumbren: Hehehe. That's why you do at least a few videos that don't get uploaded, for practice. Still, I'm discovering a new love for these types of videos, and humor is a big draw, for me. If they don't make me laugh, they bore me, and I don't watch them. The only time I'm really willing to spend hours watching someone play a game regardless of the voice/humor/whatever is when I'm doing it in real life and have gotten drawn into the game itself.
Humor is also a key factor for me. I've watched a few Let's Plays that I wouldn't have otherwise, and given up on a long-running one because it dragged so hard I just couldn't stand to watch it anymore.

My tendency is to use Let Play's as a substitute for games I flatout know I'd have no desire to play through to the end.
Dark Corners of the Earth, for example. I played it, got nailed by gamebreaker bugs and couldn't finish it, and pretty much hated it most of the time I played it in the first place. Ended up watching a Let's Play of it until the people doing it got stopped cold by gamebreaker bugs and went on to something else.

As for me, I already know I'm going to end up making a fool of myself. It's just a matter of how amusing an audience finds it.

adaliabooks: You should go if you ever get the chance, Ireland is a beautiful country. It is a shame about the troubles in the North because it is a lovely part of the country, Belfast is a great city. Been a few times recently.
Ireland is definitely on my bucket list of places I'd like to see. Closest I've been is Rick Steves' videos thus far. Yes, it does seem to be beautiful, and so many quirky historic places!

I have Kieron Gribbon's book and can't wait to someday get to use it!

Nice! My Mom had a lovely coffee table book of Ireland years ago, though it was different than this one. Can't recall the name right this second. Lots of lovely pics of towers, castles, and odd geographic features :D
Damn it, I can't decide what to play.

Lame problem, I know.

A lot of people have been fantastically generous, so of course I have the urge to run through what's been gifted to me, but which one do I do first? Certainly not going to say, "Well, this person's gift means more than that person's, so let's play game such-and-such first", but that leaves me with the physical impossibility of trying to play multiple games simultaneously.
Considering that, do I play something else entirely? Do I focus on what seem to be shorter games to decrease the towering monolith that is my current backlog? Do I say screw it and leave the entire silly tangled mess behind for the moment and play one of the games that's been annoying the shit out of me for a decade or two?

Oh, glorious indecisiveness...

I think I'll pass on that one. I appreciate the suggestion, though. =)

If Minesweeper isn't good enough, you could always try something else...

-laughs- I would really have to wonder about the mental process string that puts Minesweeper as point A, and porn as the immediate point B alternative.
