johannesroth: Yes, that's exactly it! :)

Paul31286: FYI, the Edo period counts as the Early Modern Age (kinsei), not the Middle Ages (chūsei).

How's the historical accuracy in general? Did you have someone knowledgeable about Japanese history working on the game?
We've read thousands of pages about ninja, samurai, Japan, Edo, Japanese culture etc. and also had a japanologist consulting us! But game play always came first. Instead of being 100% historical accurate, we wanted the world to be super believable and treated the whole culture with a lot of respect :)

I understand that gameplay is more important than historical accuracy, I just wanted to make sure that the writers had a basic understanding of the Edo period, and haven't thrown terms like bushidō into the game.

johannesroth: I only know it for sure for the German deluxe box, yes, because we worked on all the contents of it!
I see. Thank you for the answers.
Looks and sounds interesting, need to look more into this.
Cheers to the dev for being around and answering questions, and for the demo!
Man a modern game with the Commandos mechanics!? Count me in!! Buying on day one (after checking reviews)

musteriuz: This may seem slightly off topic, but I'm asking because I never know how to compare what I've got with what a game's minimum specs require: Is there a list somewhere that will indicate the "performance order" of the various Radeon graphics cards? I have no idea what the different series numbers mean and if all 7xxx's are better than all 6xxx's, but worse than all 9xxx's, etc. Please help.
avatar
SWM753: Here you go. Think of it more like stair steps, generally each series moves up the stairs one step relative to the last similarly numbered card. For example, AMD's 290X, 390, and 480 and Nvidia's 600 series Titan, 780, and 970 are in the same ballpark, though not even due to efficiency and architecture advances..
Thank you, I appreciate the help. With that last bit of information (I have a Radeon 6800 series card, which according to that table seems to be a bit better than the minimum required 7750), I am now pretty sure that my system is slightly better than the minimum required to be able to run the game. However, even at the lowest settings possible, once I start playing the game (not the main screen or first bit of panning over the sea) , I see little black boxes all over the screen. So can anyone please confirm whether this could be due to the fact that I run Vista and not 7 or newer?
Okay, that had been on my wishlist since it was announced, but after playing the demo...

Well, it just moved higher.

A bit of a pain with the camera angles on keyboard and mouse control, will have to dig through the setting after I buy it and see if I can slow down the jerky movement when I change the view, but even if there isn't an option to fix that it'll still be worth buying.
Do knocked out hostiles get up again after a while?
If not, what's the incentive for knocking them out, instead of killing them?
Any repercussions or consequences you have to face if you're just killing people left and right?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, they do wake up after a while. Playing non-lethal is harder, and it's up to you to choose your own play-style, some players just prefer it that way. We explicitly didn't want to you to reward for a specific behavior (besides when earning the badges, obviously). If you kill people, well, then they are dead, haha. But no, there's no hard punishment for that.

Holding Q/E rotates slowly. Quickly pressing rotates 90 degrees. Holding LEFT ALT and moving the mouse rotates freely. Feel free to re-bind those :)

And boy, for a moment I was in shock! :D

Nice, that's what I was looking for, but I heard something about a time limit so I was trying to blow through the gameplay in the demo and didn't dig too deeply into it beyond the first way I found to do something. That was the ALT + Mouse, sounds like Q/E is what I was looking for..
Looks good but $40 is too pricey for a low budget game
Just finished the 2nd chapter. It wasn't easy for me but I really enjoyed the Demo. Thanks :)

Oh dear I have the same thing happen with Shadow of Mordor after a few hours even though I have a R9 390 (though it stays confined to a small corner). I haven't played it since I upgrded to Windows 10 though...

The black boxes are called artifacts and is most liley casued by a stressed/overheated GPU, CPU, or both. It may be a combination of running the game on an old OS like Vista and with minimum requirements.

That chart is just a general idea. If you want specifics google "radeon 7750 vs 6850" or 'witcher 3 radeon 6850" (don't know which 6800 you have). Apparently The Witcher 3 can run at better-than-low settings on a 6850, but you also should check how your cpu compares to the minimum requirements becasue that is a big factor as well.

The only time limit of the demo is in the second level, 10 minutes. It also resets every time you load, so no worries. TAKE YOUR TIME :)

I don't know since when the budget of a game has any effect on the pricing. 2 years, 20 people, it wasn't even a cheap production, but sure, budget was very limited. Anyway, those are the comments that are breaking devs hearts. 25 hours of gameplay, great content, complete voice overs in EN+JP, first review scores are 86 and multiple 80+, shouldn't that determine whether you will pay 39.99 or not? Meh.

There'll always be nay-sayers. Two years of blood, sweat and tears and much love have been put into it. The majority seems to like it a lot. But it's always the small minority with negativity that has a big impact. I have my own reasons from withholding for the time being. I've got too many games and too little time. I'll put it in my wishlist for the time being. :) Maybe I'll try out the demo soon. I know I did for Shadwen and I bought the game afterwards.
