Title: Rise of the Third Power
Genre: Action RPG
Well, it's obviously not your typical action RPG, as combat looks more like traditional line combat. I need to know what kind of combat this game really has. if it's Real Time with Wait (aka ATB), or turn based with twitch to hit/defend, I'm out. It's kind of annoying that I can't tell from the description or video.
Ara fell was a really great game. I am looking forward to this.

Here you can watch a gameplay to get an idea of the title. Remember that the gameplay is based on the DEMO version.

OK, thanks. It appears to be purely turn-based, so it's all good. I'll probably be getting this. Ara Fell was a decent enough game, I think (it's been a long time since I played it). I was just spooked by the Action RPG label (not that this is the first time gog has done this -- games with pure turn-based combat should not be labeled as action games, even if it's real-time outside of combat, as long as there aren't too many action segments outside of combat) and LordCephy's comment (which implied ATB, the worst combat system ever invented).
I've been looking forward to this since I beat Ara Fell. I tried the Steam demo, and the combat seemed alright, but I am more concerned about the story. While it doesn't necessarily have to be a direct sequel to Ara Fell, it would be interesting if it was. In that case according to the description:

"1587, 2A - 15 years have passed since the guns of the Great War at last fell silent. The conflict rocked the world, leaving half a generation of men and women lying dead on the battlefield. Of the many players that had acted on the world stage, only two remained: the kingdom of Cirinthia and the ancient Republic of Tariq."

If is it a sequel, then have 1587 years past since the end of Ara Fell? Are one of the remaining nations of the conflict run by the elves? Even it it's not the case I'm looking forward to finding out.
In all seriousness, are those 'descriptions' supposed to make you lose all interest in a new release?
It sure has that effect on me.

gog2002x: I think only the Original version of Ara Fell was made with RPG Maker 2003. Ara Fell Enhanced Edition was redone in Unity if I'm not mistaken. The developers I think talked about that in a few threads.

Here's a GOG post that talks about both games from some GOG users and has a link in this reply post to what looks like an official game article.

TZODnmr2k5: Lol, funny that you mentioned this, as Ara Fell is in my wishlist, I'm glad to know it has grown from its RPG maker roots as even the 2k3 version looks great as they used custom chipsets which helps differentiate their game from the glut of RPG Maker projects/mods!

I do plan on getting it as they have some neat Zeldaesque gameplay elements!
It plays more similar to FF6.

There isn’t even any descriptions, one the releases, the video didn’t even get recognised was just an error. It’s no wonder however that they have no effort, it’s a torrent of rubbish releasing.
Trailer: "Woah!" =P

Hm. From the same folks who made Ara Fell. I quite enjoyed that one. Definitely interested. :)

GOG.com: Title: Rise of the Third Power
Genre: Action RPG
These announcements are getting to be as hysterical as they are pathetic. Honestly, why bother making the announcements at all? Just put the game in the banner on the home page and let that be the announcement.

Let's recap recent history:

1. We have Galaxy 2.0 beta which, let's face it, is utter crap according to many people, has significant technical and usability issues, and was forced upon its customers (Galaxy 1 was forcibly-updated to Galaxy 2.0 beta).

2. We have "DRM-Free" games which are actually DRM-encumbered because they require serial keys (a form of DRM) to enable certain features (specifically, multiplayer).

3. We have GOG happily releasing at least one game (Hitman 2016) which locked most of its content behind DRM (third-party account registration, third-party account login, and constant-active-connection-to-game-server requirement), GOG defending its decision to release that DRM-encumbered game and claiming the game wasn't DRM-encumbered, and GOG accusing people of "review-bombing" for posting reasonable and objective negative reviews, with GOG only removing the game from its catalog after a significant sustained backlash and a huge stain on its reputation.

4. IF I understand correctly, then we have GOG enabling its own form of DRM for many games, specifically the requirement that you must run those games via Galaxy in order to access certain features, such as multiplayer.

5. And now we have GOG not even bothering to make any effort with its announcements, with announcements now being literally nothing more than the game name and genre.

I fear we are seeing the beginning of the end for GOG (and, by extension, for DRM-free games in general).
"Each piece of equipment found, purchased or stolen is a permanent, unique upgrade for each character. Instead of purchasing replacements, the player purchases upgrades. No more buying that awesome helmet back in town only to stumble over a better one as treasure in a dungeon. Each character has 3 equipment slots with 8 upgrades each, with 192 to find in total. This system avoids the tedium of inventory management, while also giving the completionist something useful to hunt for."

Consider me sold.

gog2002x: Here's another bonus, I've not had a single crash in the Enhanced Edition (Win7 64-bit, can't speak for Win10) and gameplay has been very smooth. They seemed to have taken exceptional care in making things work, gameplay and story.
.
Looks like I'm snagging it once it goes on sale, thanks for the report!
Looks interesting
Setup to notify me when its available. Look forward to it ...

Yes as far as the battles and such, but there are some real-time puzzles and obstacle course-like paths to take as well, which is why I mentioned zeldaesque elements...
