AnimalMother117: But still, Johnny Bravo in retrospect was the funniest of the 90s run
avatar
phaolo: Ugh.. Johnny Bravo was one of the worst for me.
Also, I'm probably the only one who didn't love Beavis and Butthead..
But Donny Osmond is a villain, how can one not enjoy that?

Yeah, I never liked Beavis and Butthead. Mostly amusing to know about for the Mike Judge episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

NoNewTaleToTell: Dexter's Lab sucked, Powerpuff Girls was very "meh", Courage The Cowardly Dog was very mediocre too. I can't remember a single thing about Samurai Jack so I'm gonna go ahead and call it completely forgettable. Ed, Edd n' Eddy was cool though, and Cow & Chicken had its moments too.

I'm not familiar enough with the new cartoons to really judge them. I might have seen all of five episodes (in pieces) of Adventure Time, but I enjoyed what I saw, Regular Show bored me though.

Was The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack on Cartoon Network? I enjoyed that show.

The first season of Metalocalypse is still probably the best season of cartoons of the past decade, unless Moral Orel counts.

By the way...go watch Moral Orel! The third season was some of the absolute best TV of recent decades. The first two seasons are good too but a bit goofy, the third season was dark and absolutely brilliant.
You are evil to say Dexter's Lab sucked and Samurai Jack was forgettable :P

Dexter's Lab's first episode was Dexter getting bullied by jerks using dodgeballs and Dexter gets revenge by making a giant mech armed with Dodgeball weapons and fucking them up.

THAT IS AN AWESOME ANTI BULLY EPISODE!!!

...But yeah I watched Metalocalypse (Bought 2 CDs). And I have seen Moral Orel, fuck Clay Puppington, may he ironically burn in hell.
The argument seems to be against the way modern animation styles and techniques, and I think I've seen this before.

Heh, yeah that's a nice message but I just never connected with that show. Different tastes and all that.

I felt sorry for everybody in Morel Orel by the time it was coming to a close, I really wish it hadn't gotten canceled but it went out strong. I can't remember what they replaced it with but it was probably more of that live action junk, worst part of Adult Swim I tell ya!

Venture Bros and Boondocks were two other shows I really enjoyed, but I haven't watched any TV in a couple years so I don't know if they're still on or if they declined. To me Metalocalypse really started to decline around the third season, maybe it got better.

Oh and Home Movies! Home Movies was awesome.

Dexter's Lab was the best of the pack, but.. still like 7.5/10

"Not avaliable in your country"

But I do remember the commercials. They were ineffective at best and even than I am curious how rampent school bullying was in other countries.

Anyway here is the episode of Dex, the images is all you need.

AnimalMother117: There's a... new Looney Tunes? No, no no no no, you must be mistaken, you must be talking about some kind of video they put out in the 80s or something.
I wish. That is one time I really do wish I was wrong. And while we're on the subject of bad reeboots of classic shows... what the fuck is going on here? I though Mystery Inc. was pretty bad, but at least it didn't look like Family Guy.

I'm reading Richard Williams' book on animation and trying to slog through learning figure drawing online, because I do Flash animation (I have a degree in graphic design and it has helped, but animation and game programming interest me more) but I'm unhappy with my current simple art style. I'm sure you can find some incredible student animation on YouTube, plenty of it hand-drawn/cell, but all that does is remind me how terrible I am at that. ;-)

In fact I need to be drawing now so ttyl.

I wish I could draw like Jamie Hewlett ;)

Ah, that's too bad. I always like the look on peoples' faces when I show them those for the first time.

Moral Orel is great. Also, I agree about metalocalypse. the first season was amazing, I love brendan small. However, it took a nose dive after that. Speaking of Small, Home Movies was a great cartoon. Medieval episode? amazing!

I am sorry but flash animation is for the lazy. Man up and do traditional 2D animation or 2D Rotoscoping ;)

1940s Superman still looks gorgeous:

What made you bump the rating up a .5? Did somebody slip a check in your back pocket?! Shill!

Edit: It's a joke folks, phaolo had originally given it a 7/10.
