Dogmaus: They aim to a bigger audience, they don't need to keep a happy fan base anymore.
Let's not make movies/games for those that made us successful! Let's target the other 6.5 Billion people who weren't interested in our product to start with...

Seems like a great way to run a business...

To me it does, and without the sarcasm. When you are big, why would you aim at a smaller market of older gamers? You would rather want to squeeze out the wallets of a general audience of kids growing up with Fortnite. We can get our good games elsewhere.
It appears they are learning from the failing comics industry, and trying to catch and cater to the phantom audience.

To both posts above: They don't give a sh*t anymore as they know the more blind fans will buy whatever they churn out, good or not.

Build a good product and respect your customerbase and they will flock to you eventually.

Piss on them and tell them they should feel privileged to be nickeled and dimed, and they may go elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to squeeze anyone's wallet. I'd rather see more companies making great products everyone wants and everyone benefits, not making cheap trash and trying to rake in money in potentially infinite sales in otherwise pointless empty games.

Yt comment I found:

Me: Where'd you get that black eye?
Fallout 76 Player: I . . . Um bumped into a wall. You know how clumsy I am.
Me: Bethesda hit you again, didn't he?
Fallout 76 Player: Bethesda loves me. It was an accident.
Me: You need to get help. You deserve better.
Fallout 76 Player: You don't see how Bethesda treats me when no ones around! He gives me emotes.
Me: Emotes? EMOTES!? He's going to k*ll you!
Fallout 76 Player: Shhh! Bethesda's coming!
Bethesda: Hey bitch . . . You got my money?

A reply:

Player: He's just between games right now. He'll get better once the next Elder Scrolls comes out. He'll get better, he promised.

Another:

Fallout 76 player: but I signed up for Fallout first-
gets slapped to the floor
Bethesda: how dare you! You know I need more than that!

Another comment:

This dumpster fire is getting out of hand..!

Bethesda: [pulls up in a fuel tanker] I got this...

A reply on FO 1st microtransactions:
