rtcvb32: Well to make things easy, i've only bought EA/Ubisoft games from here, and i doubt either of them got more than $50 from me.

So honestly i think i am voting with my wallet, it just isn't a very big vote... well the negative anyways, i'm sure if they put the games i'd want here in nice packages it would be several times that amount...
Agreed,

I would love to buy the Anno series and Far Cry 3 DRM-Free.

The Sims games (although i probably wouldn't play them)
AC2+3 (Enzio trilogy to finish anyways),

and then i'm drawing a blank... perhaps i should look at the list of what EA/Ubisoft owns/publishes so i can add to this list. Hmm...

toxicTom: I think there is one word for the condition of the people in the executing positions: paranoia.
I'm more interested in whats the word for the condition of the people who are buying ... it can't be very agreable ;)

Ditto, and Blood Dragon.

Thing is, the Top 50 Bestsellers of GOG include quite some EA/Ubi games, so they must be aware of the potential for their titles, yet in the last year or so we got almost nothing from them.

Klumpen0815: Nah, they will just ship their games with an (overprized) thumbprint scanner.

Saberwolf_Prime: At customers expense.
Convenience is like freedom, it ain't free. It costs folks like you and me.
Rayman Legends without Uplay would be nice.

Origins not good enough?

Nah, it has to be DRM free, with wallpapers, avatars, and most importantly Soundtrack included.
Two words: "Black Betty" :)

I see. I wouldn't mind I Am Alive myself.

Klumpen0815: Of course, but it will log all you do to your facebook profile to make tracking easier. :)

Saberwolf_Prime: Now that's going a bit far.
I know we're joking around and all
We are? Actually, I expect this stuff to arrive soon.

Look at phrases like this one in the article about Anno 2077 from 2012

We know (well at least we figured we knew), that the game key can be used on three systems. That's fair
No.

Update monday Jan 16 - 2012:

We have been contacted by bluebyte over the weekend, the company that developed the Anno series. Our key has been pretty much unlocked allowing us to properly work on this article. To be continued ....
People accepted stuff like this and they got what they deserved, the problem is, that everybody else gets it too and I can't understand why people are giving money for this and why those articles don't just contain "You don't want us to advertise your game here and stuff it full of DRM? Fine, f*** you!".

So if I upgrade my PC 5 times I will have to wait 24 hour before I play. Well compared to some other companies that gives you 5 reinstalls total, after which you got to buy the game again, doesn't seems like a big deal to me.

How many times you thinker with your hardware in an year? And how many days are you playing BF?
The Guru3D dude doesn't know his shit, though. With DRM like this (and not only DRM) computers are identified via some hardware checksum (I don't remember what it's called exactly) which of course changes whenever you exchange any major components. Of course EA is being shitty as always but accusing them of breaking privacy laws or something based on this is perfectly moronic and a supposed hardware guru dude should know better.

Edit: Ah shit, he actually refers to that hash in the article. Still, that's just how it's done and has been done by many companies for ages, especially professional software has been using this checksum for activation limits. Bitching about privacy stuff now in this context remains moronic.

Also considering how quickly the counter resets actually makes this particular policy quite unintrusive compared to activation limits we've seen in the past. Pretty much no legit user, excluding benchmarkers, will suffer under these conditions. All in all this outrage is simply stupid and people should turn their brains back on.

And here I was considering an EA/Origin account for the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game... well never mind that now.

Thanks EA, thanks!
The millions of people that hate this are the same millions of people that will fork over their $60 the very next time.

I will both never complete my backlog AND never have this problem. Weird, huh? :)

Is that legal?
