JMich: Nitpicking. Denuvo Anti-Tamper isn't DRM. It's a digital signature. Securom (or whatever BF:HL is using) is the DRM, not Denuvo. One could in theory make a game that uses Denuvo Anti-Tamper yet remains DRM-Free, though no idea why one would do such a thing.
You're correct its a anti-tamper measure or in other words a barrier to protect the underlying DRM from being cracked, never followed through on it to be honest after the initial reaction to this protection mechanism when it first launched and folks mostly referred to it as the DRM. Just did a quick search and found a eurogamer article clarifying what Denuvo is and does. Thanks for the correction JMich. :)

Nah, EA and the others will come with a new protection...

Yes, the next gen of EA DRM, where 'Sign in' is scanning your face, and your password is a sample of your blood.

Edit: I'm just going to vote with my money by never buying another EA game, and those that I do want on consoles, I'm buying used.

Saberwolf_Prime: Why worthless? Let's send the diamonds as a gift to the rest of the big publishers, let them know what happens when you try to mess with your customers. And let EA's rattling in the cage serve as a warning to others.
I am uncertain this idea has been entirely thought through.

Saberwolf_Prime: Yes, because if DRM isn't working you must put more DRM.
Yeah, that's the logic. People aren't buying it? Must be because of piracy. We need more DRM!

I think there is one word for the condition of the people in the executing positions: paranoia. These companies have become too rich and fat and the upper levels are terribly afraid to lose anything, each individual is paranoid they could be blamed if something goes wrong with a big release.
It's like putting your children behind bars because they might get hurt on the playground.

"When we purge the PC platform from DRM, it will serve as a city on the hill, and we the users will be crowned its kings..."

Think this describes today's corporations/companies best:

So true.

But also:
Valve makes Steam
Steam makes $$$ (because people accepted it)
EA & Ubi Soft get jealous
EA & Ubi Soft make Origin and Uplay

You are right EA has a history of "We love DRM, that's how we do it around here".

Nah, they will just ship their games with an (overprized) thumbprint scanner.

At customers expense.
Let's not give them more ideas. I think they have enough:P

Of course, but it will log all you do to your facebook profile to make tracking easier. :)
Well to make things easy, i've only bought EA/Ubisoft games from here, and i doubt either of them got more than $50 from me.

So honestly i think i am voting with my wallet, it just isn't a very big vote... well the negative anyways, i'm sure if they put the games i'd want here in nice packages it would be several times that amount...

Now that's going a bit far.
I know we're joking around and all but sadly that does sound like something they would try like in 2025 :P
