wolfsrain: Went through the comments. Seems to be only access to the game that is blocked. Still, too much. The peeps from Guru claim

"Here's what EAs DRM is doing, EA don't just verify the number of PCs you work on slash use, nope .. they dare to monitor hardware changes inside your PC now, which I am sure is a privacy breach on many levels. So once we insert new hardware (CPU / mobo or graphics cards) the hardware id # hash changes and if that happens a couple of times they are rendering your activation invalid. From what we now have learned, you get to have 5 hardware changes per license. Use them up and access to the game will be blocked for 24 hours per activation. "

And this is a bit of concern, as i do have a major PC change this year. Glad that i did not buy BF4, nor Hardline
Just like Spore only worse.
And Anno2070 (lovely Ubi removed it later) or Codename Panzers: Cold War (well, Nordic removed that protection when they've bought the publishing rights from ATARI).

We should just push EA into the Janicki Omniprocessor. At least then we'd get power, water, and ash out of this.

Sounds awfully similar to Securom on the first Bioshock.

Might aswell get Battlefield 4 as it is now since its much better than it was at launch and imo better than BF3.

BF4 multiplayer is one of those games I want to upgrade my computer for.
Don't know what point you're trying to make but I will not give EA a pass for continuing with another iteration of the terrible Denuvo DRM just because it doesn't really affect most users and is a temporary security measure. I much rather agree with the approach taken by Paradox to combat piracy even if I don't really agree with their multiple DLC releases policy.

Simple fact: as long as people keep buying recycled copy/paste shit like assassin's shit, call of doodoo and battlecock, publishers will develop the same thing. It's a fantastic business plan tbh. Create a lot of profit with the lowest cost. It's toyota's lean management lol.

They basically release these half finished beta products, let people test it and post on forums about it. It's such a fucked up mentality. Basically you pay for a pants with holes in it....

Simple thing: do not buy any ubi, ea, activision titles. They used to be my favorite publishers (back in the days they actually developed their own stuff). Now they are billion dollar companies with shareholders. And they have to generate an income within certain quarter (that's why they keep on changing their release dates or release stuff waaaay too early)

What I'm wondering is if the devs have a hand in these fucked up practices as well. You'll think bioware would learn anything but they keep on fucking up pc users....

/end of rage

Also Denuvo has been cracked so what's the use of making hones' lives sour while pirates have it easier!!!

Shout out to CDRed for not implementing any DRM (although they approved of the Xbox1 initial DRM :p)

When you can't fight piracy with software drm, why not remo...why not try a hardware drm now. This crap will keep going as long as people buy these games.

EA and Ubi survive because they know monkey gamers will buy their next title of their popular franchise, no matter what drm they put.

Yes, because if DRM isn't working you must put more DRM. You must have DRM on your DRM. Wasn't there a game for PC that needed Steam, GFWL, & the disc in the bay to play?
Sarcasm: Their profits must have been tremendous by absolutely blowing Pirates, Used games, and Cheaters into oblivion.

Edit: Monkey gamers? That's a little harsh isn't it? How about Sheeple? ;)

stg83: another iteration of the terrible Denuvo DRM
Nitpicking. Denuvo Anti-Tamper isn't DRM. It's a digital signature. Securom (or whatever BF:HL is using) is the DRM, not Denuvo. One could in theory make a game that uses Denuvo Anti-Tamper yet remains DRM-Free, though no idea why one would do such a thing.

Why would we waste the valuble ash on worthless rocks?
What a surprise...
But I expect no less from a company like EA.

Why worthless? Let's send the diamonds as a gift to the rest of the big publishers, let them know what happens when you try to mess with your customers. And let EA's rattling in the cage serve as a warning to others.
