I don't want to come across as condescending, but don't you think it's a bit counterproductive to link to something you find stupid, thereby giving it more exposure than it would have received otherwise?

If you want to get mad about something, I'd get mad that it's one of the sites that breaks articles into multiple pages to artificially decrease their bounce rates and manufacture something that looks like high visitor engagement. Annoying as hell to the end user.

...especially annoying when it's some sort of Top 10 list.

ot.
I don't think expecting autosaves has to do with stupidity, more with what you're used to. I'm more likely to forget making manual saves in a game after playing New Vegas with CASM installed because it's so very convenient not having to remember things yourself!
Autosave in games nowdays is as common as ABS in the cars, so if game don't have it it's worth to highlight it I guess, or I'm missing smt?

The smarts are strong in this one.

You consider saving gameplay? Keep pressing F5 in your browser window, let's see how much fun you're having :-P
youtube gameplay videos. Do these count as the game being played for you?

The innovation of games saving their progress for us has freed up our precious minds for more intellectual pursuits. For example did you hear what Kanye West said recently?! Oh my god!
I prefer manual saving to checkpoint saving, but I don't have anything against automatic saving.
Calling manual saving antiquated though is just wrong, it's still being used although automatic saving has become the norm. But I do think having no automatic saving is worth a mention these days due to the norm thingamajingle.
I don't own the remastered version, does it mention that you have to manually save?
Every other game mentions it's saving automatically so a message before the game starts would make sense.

What did you expect from the Gabe lunatic " Can i play it on ultra high resolution with a game controller on my high-end Windows 10 pc and earn trophies / achievements ? I want trading cards , no 90% off sale no buy ! " Steam generation ?

I have to admit that complaint is hilarious. It's legitimate to complain about the lack of auto-save in 2015 but the way he/she did it is embarrassing to any gamer with worth his salt.
I want to believe this is an isolated case of a lazy kid who started playing games last year and not the entire "modern gamer" population.

You beat me to it. Wait? Does that mean I'm stupid!? =O

EDIT: Aww, who am I kiddin'? I'm pretty stupid. :P

I quicksave so often that I should probably rebind the quicksave key to Spacebar in each game. Or better yet, the side button on my gaming mouse. Quicksaving is a comfort button. You know that, no matter what happens – a character death, a wrong decision, a fall of a ledge, a computer crash – you'll never lose more than a few minutes.
I hate the other way around automatic+manual saving but manual saving is implemented only on a checkpoints => you pass checkpoint A and after 30 minutes (or more depending on the game, I'm looking at you Tomb Raider: Underworld) you reach checkpoint B, but if you manual save just before checkpoint B let's say on the 25 minute, guess what, when you load your save you start from checkpoint A :D

Nah, we already have that in 2003
