phaolo: What!? Did you receive free gifts for PoE, D:OS and Got?? :O
avatar
Grargar: Not necessarily. If you redeem a gift code, then it also shows as a "free" gift.
Lol, I was suspecting exactly what Firek said afterwards..

Firek: Unfortunately these codes were among those that we recently discovered to have been purchased fraudulently. We have canceled the codes and, most importantly, issued refunds to the owners of the stolen cards.
I would strongly suggest that you contact whomever you purchased these codes from, and demand a full refund.
I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

On a side note, it's worth pointing out that selling GOG gift codes is forbidden as per our User Agreement (3.3) so these should never have been put on sale anyway.
This is impossible, my friends give me those games (i paid) !!, I wanted to try the platform gog but at this point I'll never make purchases with you, on STEAM these problems there are.

If you bought the codes from a friend, then your friend probably purchased codes that someone else had bought with a stolen credit card, your friend likely didn't know that, but unfortunately that's the case. Your friend needs to get a refund from whoever they bought the codes from, and you should ask your friend to have your money back.

Well, did your friends buy those keys from GOG? In that case they would be legit.
Or did your friends get those keys from a shady unauthorized site? In that case you have no way of knowing whether the original purchase was legitimate.

On a side note, such things happen with every platform. On Steam, customers had their copies of Sniper 3, several Devolver Digital titles, and some more, removed because they bought them from unauthorized sites, and the original purchase was fraudulent. On UPlay, a large number of fraudulently obtained keys were revoked in January.

The problem is the fraud, not the platform. Make sure that you buy your games from authorized stores (GOG, Steam, Amazon, Humble, GamersGate) and these things will not happen.

Steam has done and will do exactly the same thing upon discovering that something was bought with a stolen credit card. And it happens way more often there than here on GOG...

Buyers of these codes usually don't know if they were purchased legally, so your friends are not at fault. They should demand full refunds themselves, though. I'm sorry to see that this situation turned out so complicated, but in this situation there is nothing else that we can do. Giving the money back to whomever had their card info stolen is the top priority.
I hope this works out well for you, and you will get your money back in the end.

Returning stolen property to its rightful owner is exceptionally rare these days. We consider it honorable to give someone their hard-earned money back when they've been robbed.

And although purchasing stolen property is illegal, it's usually done out of ignorance. Had you known those codes were stolen, you would have never bought them. And so you should be equally angry as the man or woman who had their money stolen to begin with.

So you should take your righteous fury and share it with your friend and go after the shady key resellers that took a developers, a distributor's, a stranger's, your friend's and your own hard-earned money.
Too messy affair ... it will be impossible to solve ... my friend paid the seller .. and I paid my friend ..
