jepsen1977: I too find the Insomnia sale to be a bit shady. It's meant to take advantage of our desire to want things that are rare by not giving the consumer enough time to research and watch YT vids of the game. You are meant to panic and just buy shit without thinking. It's a cheap used car-salesman trick that I think GOG should be too good for.
There's a bit of that, I guess.

But my issue is that if you care about the deals, it's a colossal waste of time.. you literally have to spend days just constantly checking the deals. It doesn't respect people's time. Of course, people have the option to not participate. That doesn't make it a good sale format however.

And then it feels rather unfair towards people who don't get to spend their days glued to a screen. Should we punish people who have a job so hard?

vanchann: I like Insomnia Sales, not just for the sales themselves.
I like how active the forum has been during them
That's true : )
I somehow doubt it since Steam Summer sale starts on June 23rd, which means we will have Summer sale here on GOG in 2-3 weeks from now. I hope we get some goodies as well during the sale. *winks at GOG team for Oblivion & Fallout releases*

skimmie: Because?

Breja: Because I'd rather have all the deals laid out simultanously and have the time to consider my purchase. I don't like gimmicky sales. I don't need the act of buying games to be additionally gamified.
I see. Well, I happen to like the tension and the 'just one more game' feeling when keeping an eye on the sales, but I can certainly understand that other people don't.
Apparently 2017 will leave insomnia fans heart broken.

I hope gog will make up for it in 2018! BIG time!
I can't speak for the "Insomnia fans" but personally I'm not very Keane on the idea.

Actually, the last few times they've had them, it's always been in the spring/later winter; either way, early in the new year. I don't believe there's ever been an Insomnia sale in December (which would be a rather poor time to do one -- for both customers and staff -- given how busy many people are with family-related stuff).

Shirley you meant to say 'Hahahahahaha Nox™', right?

I mean just look at all the fun (... Nox™!) we had (back when you were called the_voivod) – and how the community bonded!
