genkicolleen: Second is BillyMaysFan59's Pipboy contest (can't find a link, argh!). We had to take any drawing of Pipboy from the Fallout series, and make him over in our own way. We had everything from "The Dude" to Sachys-Pipboy to Batman submitted -- it was a lot of fun!
Found it (I think):

That's the one, thanks! Edited in~!

Mr.Caine: I nominate Ddickinson's the girls/boys of GOG giveaways because they generated an actual discussion. Not exactly something you see everyday in a giveaway thread:)

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_girls_of_gog_giveaway_no_boys_allowed/page1
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_guys_of_gog_giveaway_no_girls_allowed/page1
Yes, i'd like to nominate these two giveaways from Ddickinson too. The reasons being that they had an interesting topic that turned into two great discussions. Even lured out long time forum lurkers, like me, to take part in the thread (and later, the forum community). :)

Second (or third, depending if Ddickinson's GA's count for one or two entries) i'd like to nominate trentonlf's GA for the Secret Santa's for his generosity.

high rated
There are so many generous members on this forum who host great giveaways or make donations to the Bonza, it is very difficult to nominate just one. But, the one that has me bowled over is klaattu, who donated Blade of Darkness to the Bonza... which means that in the very brief window before the game left the GOG catalog, klaattu grabbed a copy just to give away, even though it could be traded for a good return. I'd say that's some generosity!
Thanks for all the nominations so far.

Sadly, I can't enter myself. However I'll post my favourite 3 giveaways too.

1. real.geizterfahr's 100 giveaway
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/100/page1
Not only that's an enormous amount of GOG games given away, the host spread it over 3 months, and made it more interesting with the addition of jokers. Was really fun to follow, and must have taken a great deal of effort to organize.

2. BBBBoB
Love the effort Sachys and foxworks put into organizing these. It's a great way of donating extra codes. And I really appreciate how it requires forum participation for entry.

3. Slaugh's Holidays Spirit giveaway
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/holidays_spirit_giveaway_20_different_games_to_win
That was a huge collection of Christmas songs. Plus I really liked how the author kept making updates throughout the giveaway. Very nice job, and just goes to show how what great members could be hiding behind a relatively low rep.

Honourable mentions:
RWarehall's Stupendously Spontaneous Serendipitous Discussion and Giveaways - nice discussion topics.
Sachy's (and Sigil's) Absent Friends giveways - ditto: nice discussion topics.

Not In!

But I saw the thread and had to give a shout out to the giveaway run by Sinistar (I think? I'm REALLY sorry if I botch this!) and including a TON of games from The Giftbot. I'm not (just ;) ) mentioning it because I received an absolutely amazing gift I never thought I'd see here on GoG; I'm also throwing it out there because it showed what a wonderful, special community we have. I think it was three codes, each with an enormous number of games, that made the rounds to all of the many, many winners. And the whole thing went off without a hitch. How great is that!
TBBBBOB - Massive amount of games to be won, the amount of work to coordinate the whole affair.
Along with the original intentions behind the creation.

ddickinson Great Nations GA's, very original and creative way of doing a GA.

xckx Open this thread GA...just for the generosity displayed.

i'd be pleased as punch to see the prize go to any of the above.....just not me or it's Not in :P
Hi there!

I am in into this, I need to because I have some things to express. I think that what makes GOG GiveAways uniques in comparison to other's is the fact each GA make the community involve in it own roots, at the end everyone seems to participate in the forum like a small town. GOGland maybe.
About my opinion here, it is common knew that I created my account long time ago, but I start participating in the community later in November, almost starting December, so I can't be sure about the whole year GA.

However, I think everyone (Or almost everyone) should agree that for the magnitude of the events, the amount of winners/games and the participation of the community even for those who don't were in, Secret Santa 2014 and TBBBBGA will be the two most huge GA in the year, and for those reasons, the winners. I may be wrong, but remember I am talking since my own experience here :)

Either way, the amount of games does not rest importance for those GA were not the same amount of games have been offer, since the intention is what makes it important. Share make us feel good. I think that is the human part.

Al that said, I want to nominee those GA I think were really special, with the exception the first two I mentioned at the beginning, for obvious reasons:

1. A Gift From BundleStars. Why is it my first nominee? Because OldFatGuy did a nice job creating those puzzlez and making the whole thread entertained hahaha. It was fun try to get the code that way; sad no many enter there, can't say if was for the puzzle or for the game. In fact, I didn't get there for the game, but for the nature of the GiveAway. For that, was the best for me.

2. The "I've got infected, too" GiveAway. Why is that one nominee? Because the essence of that GiveAway did express the whole community nature about the subject; maybe there is something in the air here in GOGland. For those reasons, I give it 2nd place among the others.

3. After Christmas giveaway for Secret Santas and Elves. Why I nominee it? Because trentonlf was kind enough to get secret santas and elf backs, and said that was kind keeps short; is more likely a very nice sign from him to cover those users who help to gather games for users help others in the past.

This is it, my final list for late November / December GA. Is important to state that the fact I didn't not mention others GA, or even the other users who didn't do as well, are still important and well receive for all. So if anyone out there is getting shy, don't be! Participate in the forums as you will be very nice received, as happen to me!

Also, I want to use this post to thank again those GOG users who I have communicate, mostly for being polite, the partnership spirit and for the integration at all. Kinda like GOGland. After all, Isn't GOG community the best forum place?

See you around pals, cheers!

I just made a small amendment to the rules. Since some of you would like to nominate giveaways without entering for the 5.99$ nominator's prize, you may now elect to post your nominations while not being in yourself.
In this case if your post wins, the host you nominated will still get the 9.99$ prize, and I'll chose another nominator for the 5.99$ prize.

Momo1991: ~If this entry wins, please give ddickinson both prizes so she can pick something a bit pricier for herself ;-D
Given the change above, I'll randomly select another nominator should your post win. Alternatively you can edit your post and enter for yourself.

If I understood you correctly, you'd like not to be in for yourself? If that's the case, the above will apply to you too.

Again, thanks all for the nominations :)

1337KittenFan: Final Nominee is 3) Square Enix giveaway by ChaunceyK. He was giving away bundles or you could choose the games you wanted to try to win. Nice choice of games too.
I agree, awesome giveaway!

I'm in

I liked my own giveaway (The Incredible Christmas D&D Giveaway). Feels good to know both sides. Whoever hasn't tried it yet, I recommend you to do your own giveaway, you're not gonna regret it. Of course, I am not nominating myself here.

One more to mention is the I've got infected too giveaway by AcidFlux. He shared something very special and personal with all of us, that makes for a strong family feeling, or something.

My top favorite giveaway of the year is the Year End Blowout Giveaway by Coelocanth.

He currently gives away my top wanted games on the planet and lets you reveal a bit about your gaming habits and preferences for it.

I will second these nominations and add that my own runners up includes TrentonLF (who has excellent taste), ddickson (who also has excellent gaming taste and comes up with very fun topics), Briareos262, ZFR & Klumpen0815 (for encouraging all of us to be more creative), IAmSinistar's amazing attic events, Impaler26's Shabby Game Shelter, RagnarBlackmane's fun questions, & RWarehall

You Guys Rock! :)

Austrobogulator's monstrous puzzle giveaway:
Four Stars: A puzzle giveaway - If you're quick, you could win up to $100 worth of GOGs!
I enjoyed the many hours banging my head against these puzzles, even though I never managed to crack them! I'm certain creating them was quite an investment on Austro's part.

I don't want any prizes, thank you.

So hard to pick just 3!

Since only an honorable mention, I will officially nominate RWarehall (unless SalarShushan's post counts as the official nomination) for the Stupendously 'Stupendous' Giveaway. It was a marathon of game giveaways

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/stupendously_serious_giveaway_9_unfinished_games_edition/?search=stupendously

Perhaps a controversial nomination, I nominate xckx for his "Open this thread..." thread. Technically a giveaway IMO as you have a MAHAYO format and not just a code grab. Why? Because, not only has he been giving away games on his thread since February, his thread has also become a long-lasting entity in itself for quickie giveaways from so many other Goggers. To date, it has OVER 9000!!!! posts-- (What? 9000?!?). ;-P

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/open_this_thread/page1

Lastly, for sadistic quirkiness, I would like to add a nomination for Cyraxpt for his "I want to play a game" - Christmas Edition (giveaway). This giveaway forced you to 'shoot' at an advent calendar in the hopes of "missing" a reindeer and winning a game. I'm not sure what was more fun, winning a game, or shooting one of Santa's hapless reindeer!

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/i_want_to_play_a_game_christmas_edition_giveaway
--------------------------------------------

My honorable mentions:
real.geizterfahr, Sachys, foxworks, Ddickinson, Momo & trentonlf - All worthy of the title, but already listed by others, so I wanted to make my nominations unique.

Lastly, ZFR for the giveaways, but I'm not sure how it'd work to gift oneself a prize if won, so to prevent my head exploding thinking about it.... ;-) Thanks for the giveaway, AND a chance to acknowledge those of us who had outstanding generosity during 2014.

Here's hoping our community only gets better with 2015. Happy new year, everyone!
I am going to nominate http://www.gog.com/forum/general/i_want_to_play_a_game_christmas_edition_giveaway the reindeer advent game GA. THere were a ton a great GAs this year, with the discussions, puzzles, etc, but I really enjoyed that one.
Not in, but thanks for the amazing giveaway! It's great that people are finally getting noticeably rewarded for their incredible generosity through widespread acknowledgement. :) Happy new year, everybody, and good luck to the participants!
