I konw i'll sound like a nob for saying this, but are there any sites with good, quality mods for Faloout rather than simple patches and what-not? I just want some fun, immersive, creative bonus content that i can just download and play.

Khefre: I downloaded killaps unofficial patch and im having the same problem though in my case the solutions are not working. I am a Vista user.
Nvm, i discovered the problem was running it as an administrator.

Thanks Much! I am running win2k and there are no compatibility settings!
[edit] No luck with admin mode either. :(

Win2k is not really tailored for playing games. Dual-boot with WinXP highly recommended.
I asked GOG if I'd have any problems running the fallout series with mods if I got it from their site and they had every opportunity to warm me about this and they DIDN'T! I'm pissed! I wanna know why they didn't say anything when I was so clear about what I asked them, now that I'm seeing all these customer complaints piling up in the forum. Hey, if I didn't ask it would be my fault, but I asked them and they didn't warn me so I feel very wronged here.
I'm trying to get the Restoration Project Mod to run... and so far a lot of random crashes that don't make any sense (because of when they happen) and the Primative Villiage instantly crashes the game if I try to enter it. The entire screen goes black. Files that are supposed to fix other problems like the Bozar, aren't even compatible with GOG's version of this game. It won't even run with the sfall ddraw file fixes.
I've installed three mods (restoration v1.2, v25 unofficial patch and resolution v2.0) and I can't launch the game. Compatibility mode error.
Here are some spec.:
Intel Core Duo 2,6ghz
GF 8800GT
4GB RAM
Windows XP 64bit
EDIT: A solution worked for me... uncheck the compatibility mode in the properties. :P

Use 7-zip (SF) instead. It's free and open source and can unpack almost any archive on planet (ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, DEB, DMG, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MSI, NSIS, RAR, RPM, UDF, WIM, XAR and Z) and its own packaging alghorithm is effective as well (you can pack in ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR format as well).
Just remember to attach it to all file types after installation (run 7-zip -> tools -> settings -> select all -> ok) and you're good to go.

The link to the resolution patch is broken. I would assume that a new version has been uploaded.
Here is the latest High Res patch: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1252

Quick question here. You can't use the resolution patch with the killap patch right? I would like to have the high resolution, but the killap patch fixes a lot of bugs.
Both are fine to use together.

I just downloaded the GOG version of fallout 2. I also downloaded the character editor from NMA but I can't seem to get it to work. Can I even use the fallout 2 character editor with thr GOG version?
Make sure you're accessing the right directory. When I first tried using it, I made the mistake of directing it to specific saves. My memory's fuzzy, but I think you have to direct it to the folder for all saves...
Someone can check me. It's been a while since I used it.
