Pangaea666: Odd that it works for Tutu but not BGT.
TuTu does not have BG2 to worry about.
There is one odd thing I noticed, though. I've not made any weaks so that stores can't identify (all) items, but I see that some items can't be identified in stores. Could the NPC mod have messed this up somehow? For instance, the merchants in the carnival can't identify a wand I found (probably lightning) nor the pantaloons.
Every store has it's own flags for what it can buy and sell. If it doesn't buy or sell items, it can't identify them.

That makes sense. However, in one of the stores I was able to identify for instance a ring of protection, but the pantaloons and the wand was not possible to select in the Identify tab of the store. Don't think it's been like that in the game before, so I wondered why that was.

Not a big deal of course as I'll have the spell at some point, but I did find it odd.

Makes sense about Tutu vs BGT then. Would be nice to have that feature in BGT too, though, as it can be a pain to relocate people if they are stuck out in the wilderness. Heck, despite knowing on what map Kivan was, I walked hither and tither just trying to find the bloke.

e: Do you mean categories of items above btw? This was in the carnival and Beregost, and iirc they can't sell or buy everything, so perhaps that would be why. Suppose I've tried to identify items in previous playthroughs at stores that deal with everything.

Yes, categories. Here's a hint re. identifying: go to a temple for all your ID needs.
hey guys... I just want a mod that will let me enlarge the game screen so it is not so small on my screen.... the ones at the beginning of this thread were throwing up dangers alerts on Norton so I need some newer safer links

You don't need a mod for that, you need to look at the scaling options for your graphics card.
Just wanted to say incredible guide. Thank you! Was able to install everything without a hitch.
Hi,
I'm trying to install BG2 Fixpack - in their readme they tell me to use "tolower". That's where I'm stuck at - i get a fatal error when creating linux.ini.
Exact message:
"Fatal error: exception Sys_error("/home/$USERNAME/.wine/dosdevices: No such file or directory")"
I've tried to install newest wine available - didn't seem to help at all. Did anyone encounter this problem? How do I deal with this?
My system: Linux Mint 17.2.

No, wrong. Also, that's ^ the exact error message?
Following that, open a terminal, cd to your BG2 installation directory, run `tolower' and answer Y to both queries.
The BG2 directory is somewhere under drive_c in whatever Wine prefix you installed it to, e.g. ~/.wine/drive_c/GOG/Baldur's Gate II. You want to run "tolower" from there.

What's wrong? And yes, this is the exact message:

~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/prefix/drive_c/gog games/baldur's gate 2 $ tolower
Do you want to lowercase everything?
(run if you extracted some mods since the last time you ran this utility)
[Y]es or [N]o
Y
Do you want to generate linux.ini from baldur.ini?
(needed once per installation)
[Y]es or [N]o
Y
Fatal error: exception Sys_error("/home/$USERNAME/.wine/dosdevices: No such file or directory")

Except that instead of $USERNAME is my username.

I did run tolower from the installation path specified after running the downloaded sh script. As far as I understand it, the script creates a standalone wine installation for the game in the same folder( in my case: ~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/prefix/drive_c/gog games/baldur's gate 2). I've tried running tolower both in ~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete and the wine standalone path - the same error appeared.

So, not the exact error message.

cy83rr: ~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/prefix/drive_c/gog games/baldur's gate 2 $ tolower
...
( in my case: ~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/prefix/drive_c/gog games/baldur's gate 2).
OK, no that's correct. Looking at the they apparently [url=https://github.com/WeiDUorg/weidu/blob/master/src/tolower.ml#L85]hardcoded it to the default wine prefix? That doesn't seem right. Do you not have a ~/.wine directory? You could create one by running $ wine cmd. It appears this would allow the linux.ini to be successfully created which you would then need to adjust the paths to ~/Software/Baldurs Gate 2 Complete/prefix/drive_c.
Is there a mod that removes the XP cap that works with the BG2:EE? I have some mods already installed on it too. I also am looking for one that works with BG1:EE for a future play-through. Any help would be much appreciated.

The BG and BG2 Tweak Packs have the option to change or remove the XP cap. They are compatible with all variations of the game.

Hi!

Just wanted to say thank you for this - I haven't recently tested this, (quite a while ago I did) but I do want to thank you for the list :)

Cheers!

Hello, GoJays2025.

Thanks for the guide. Everything works, except I've encountered a bug in GOG Galaxy - time tracking does not work. Anyone knows how to fix this?
