Good game, but needs fixing
It wouldn't go past the loading screen, so I found out it was an issue for CPUs with more than 8 threads, according to this post: removed due to not being allowed to link, I guess? Anyways after that it crashed in the first level which apparently was due to RAM, so I had to find a fix on some random forum post from 2010 to make it run on Win11... Something called Large Address Ware? Anyways, it worked it the end, but I thought the whole point of GOG was making Good Old Games run on modern PCs....

What a great RTS
If you like COD Campaigns and RTS, then this game mixes it so well that its such a great game even all these years later. Graphically still holds up and some great music on here too!

*Sigh* Too short, Pining for a sequel
War siming at its finest. I think on some computers there are a bit of bugs that the folks on GOG need to look at but Its awesome. PS You need to get the expansion pack soviet invasion to totally appreciate this marvelous work! There are no bad guys. You play both sides of the conflict at any given time! You play as Russia, as America and Nato. Its WW3 at its finest. Not even Red Dawn (both versions), Red Storm rising or Red Orchestra come close to capturing the intensity of what might have been... On a side note I should note that tacicians on both sides agree, its not likely that Russia would invade America. The war would've been fought in Europe and China would've played both sides.

Explosions? Explosions
The perfect RTS for anyone who just wants to jump in without learning hundreds of mechanics and controls. There is zero base building (always a plus in my book), and very well balanced difficulty. I played the game on normal and at no point did I feel the game was too easy, nor did I feel it was too hard. Above all, the game has got some of the most impressive and satisfying explosions I've seen in an RTS. If you like watching things get blown to smithereens, this game is for you.
