Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate

Found this same that I use to play back in 90s. Unfortunitly the game crashes in the mission to save the captured space marine Disappointing.

Obviously dated but a true classic! One of the best video game soundtracks out there. If you're nostalgic for second edition 40K, you can't go wrong. But the nature of capturing second edition comes with all the clunkiness of that edition. Still, for 1998, it was a faithful adaptation.

This game is good, very good if you are a warhammer nerd and a Xcom player. However, it's so old it's bugged. Latest patch seems to have done wonder on windows 10 but it is buggy on 11 and SteamOS (No sound). I highly recommend but READ THE MANUAL. There is a lot of concept to grasp.

Exactly what this platform is for.

This game is very janky at times, but it absolutely dripping with personality, charm and 2nd edition Oldhammer 40k style. The art is great, the voice lines are cheesy but memorable, and the soundtrack is excellent and befits the setting well. The Xcomlike format works incredibly well, as you sort your Space Marines into squad roles befitting their stats, become attached to them, promote them to Terminators, rage when they die to 20 consecutive frag grenades from a bunch of cultists you didn't see, then name your IRL character models after them to immortalize their mighty deeds and ignominious deaths. Uh, the game isn't balanced either. My friend's campaign ended with him juicing up his best Assault Marine with gear and psychic blessings to give him a ton of bonus AP, and sending this absolute gigachad sailing across the huge, fortified chaos wasteland of the final level with his jump pack, kicking down Lord Zymran's door and absolutely murdering him on Turn 1.
