Trine Enchanted Edition is a remake of the original Trine with dazzling new visual effects and numerous gameplay improvements!
Both Trine Enchanted Edition as well as the original Trine are included in the Enchanted Edition. The different versions are selectable from the game launcher. All Trine purchases have been automatically updated to Trine Enchanted Edition.
Trine is a physics-based action game where three characters combine their powers to devise clever solutions to challenges created by hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics where each character's different abilities and tactics can be used to invent new ways to overcome obstacles and save the kingdom!
The single-player game is fantastic fun, but Trine is one of those games best played with a friend in co-op mode. Finding solutions in a synergy of different character skills, perfectly timing your actions, and solving puzzles together with your co-op partner is the kind of truly rewarding feeling that only the best co-op games can elicit.
Many indie games get by with a minimalist approach to graphics and audio, making a virtue of limited resources and focusing solely on gameplay. Trine is not one of those games. It has stunning visuals and captivating audio; together, they create an enchanting combination that is almost hypnotically beautiful. Trine is a very unique experience, a slick combination of puzzle and platformer games with brilliantly executed co-operative mode. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a game that is not only fun and eye-candy but also keeps your brain pleasantly occupied.
Winner of Best Downloadable Game (GameSpot's E3 Editors' Choice Awards) 2009.
Enchanting visuals, beautiful music, and stunning attention to detail throughout the entire adventure.
Polished and fluid game mechanics make the puzzle solving process a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Trine is available for Linux and Mac Os X too... why do you say it's only for Windows? If you are going indie (that's great by the way), you should consider including all the operative systems each game is available. Best thing for me about Indie games is many of them don't forget about Linux and Mac.
The game, by the way, is awesome. I already bought Trine 2 too.
Trine is one of the few indie games that stand out among AAA titles.
The graphics of the game are absolutely gorgeous. It's colorful and bright, like a world of skittles. It's imaginative and overall just a pleasure to look at.
The gameplay is a sort of mix bag, as you can alternate between the three characters. Playing as the mage was the most entertaining for me, as the physics puzzles were just terrific. I love non-linear puzzle solving. Playing as the other two was very meh. I was never able to understand how the thief played, and her physics were whack. The tank was...well, kind of out of place in what I thought was a puzzle and platforming game.
There are two final annoyances: the last level was extremely difficult and the game didn't really prepare you for it. And lastly, enemies will respawn at the same hole for about 5-6 times, with a gap in between. That was just annoying, and really unnecessary for a puzzle/platformer. These faults are not enough to distract from this absolute gem though.
I played this game with my boyfriend and his brother and we had lots of fun.. The last level was really difficult but nevertheless enjoyable. This game is really a gem, but I think it's much better if you can play it with your friends; you'll have three times the fun!
"Trine" is full of charm, whimsy and the feelings of classic fantasy adventure.
The pros :
+ If there's one thing everyone agrees on, it's the graphics. Trine is already hands down one of the most beautiful games I've ever played in my life, if there's one game more beautiful than that, that could only be Trine 2, which I haven't played yet :) The 2.5D always was the best way to showcase your art direction without having to go for extra-high resolution and textures (look at Valkyrie Profile : Silmeria on PS2). Since Trine started as a little indie game, the graphics are all the more impressive.
+ The game difficulty is yours for chosing, personally I played almost the whole game on Easy difficulty because I wanted to dedicate myself to the platforming and looking at the gorgeous vistas, but if you rise the difficulty, the enemies will have more HP and that can be a challenge.
+ The soundtrack : very medieval sounding, the main melody will be stuck in your head for hours!
+ The fairy-tale like feel, the easy humour and the narrator who sounds like some old grandfather by the fire treasuring every instant of his tale.
The cons :
- Some characters are clearly more fun to play with that others ... The Thief and the Wizard have very interesting abilities and really add to the platforming element, but the Knight is pretty dull, you'll only use it for fighting the same skeletons over and over again.
- Even after the patch, there are still some minor bugs.
- If you're a seasoned platforming veteran and have a normal computer unlike my own (mine is an old laptop and lags terribly) I guess the game can be a bit too easy. As someone pointed out, on the other hand, it can be perfect to play with the whole family.
I enjoyed Trine immensely. After finishing the game there is still work to be done for those willing to : higher difficulties, a bonus level, achievements ... I think that I will come back for more ...
Due to the rotation between three characters and light puzzler elements, lines are sometimes drawn to the Lost Vikings to attempt to describe Trine. I feel this gives one an inaccurate view of what to expect for anyone that has spent significant time with the vikings game. In terms of genre Trine is best described as platformer.
The puzzle elements will rarely leave one scratching their head and are generally not complicated enough to prevent one from advancing, nor does the death of one character prevent one from progressing. These puzzle elements do however give players creative and alternative ways of achieving that progress that is mentally stimulating without adding undue frustration.
The game is not terribly long, nor is it too short to be satisfying. It is a game of reasonable length that one can consume and then move on from after having enjoyed yourself throughly. It also has a reasonable amount of replay value meaning you will likely find yourself coming back to it some day in the future.
Trine is rarely a challenge, but is accessible and creative experience that I can whole heartedly recommend to all skill levels, and is a must have experience for any lover of the platformer genre, and worth a look from those that traditionally are not.
