Trine Enchanted Edition is a remake of the original Trine with dazzling new visual effects and numerous gameplay improvements!
Both Trine Enchanted Edition as well as the original Trine are included in the Enchanted Edition. The different versions are selectable from the game launcher. All Trine purchases have been automatically updated to Trine Enchanted Edition.
Trine is a physics-based action game where three characters combine their powers to devise clever solutions to challenges created by hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics where each character's different abilities and tactics can be used to invent new ways to overcome obstacles and save the kingdom!
The single-player game is fantastic fun, but Trine is one of those games best played with a friend in co-op mode. Finding solutions in a synergy of different character skills, perfectly timing your actions, and solving puzzles together with your co-op partner is the kind of truly rewarding feeling that only the best co-op games can elicit.
Many indie games get by with a minimalist approach to graphics and audio, making a virtue of limited resources and focusing solely on gameplay. Trine is not one of those games. It has stunning visuals and captivating audio; together, they create an enchanting combination that is almost hypnotically beautiful. Trine is a very unique experience, a slick combination of puzzle and platformer games with brilliantly executed co-operative mode. This is a great choice for anyone looking for a game that is not only fun and eye-candy but also keeps your brain pleasantly occupied.
Winner of Best Downloadable Game (GameSpot's E3 Editors' Choice Awards) 2009.
Enchanting visuals, beautiful music, and stunning attention to detail throughout the entire adventure.
Polished and fluid game mechanics make the puzzle solving process a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.

For starters, this game has excellent dark-sparkly graphics and beautiful soundtrack which make up for a great general atmosphere that draws you to play the game on and on...
Each of these three characters has its use, although I have found the knight to be the least useful due to thief's incredible arrow spam at later levels.Still useful when overcrowded with skeletons, though! Swinging with the thief and building constructions with the mage are really, really interesting things to play with, and there are plenty of challenges to find in the game for these skills.
The only things that are sometimes irritating are flocks of bats (too fast to hit with bow, and too fast to hit with sword without being hit in the process) and minute-long incessant spawns of skeletons while you are trying to build that tower of cubes or a bridge over a lake of lava with the mage. However, just spam a ton of arrows and these thing go away pretty fast :)
I use that to describe it rather than platformer because its so much more than a button masher. In fact it is the first i've finished in probably 15 years, because its just plain fun.
First, and for most its actually a puzzle game, the three characters each have their own ways of solving the puzzles, although for most of them there is a fairly obvious solution utilizing the wizard or thief. Try to solve the puzzles with one of the other characters in these situations. The developers claim there are solutions to all the problems using all three characters, but sometimes I wonder....
Anyway, besides some clipping bugs, and the skeletons (which were apparently an afterthought), the game is exceedingly well polished and has fantastic graphics for a game in this genre. The music/story also fits the whole environment like a glove.
BTW: Trine II is out, but I'm waiting for the DRM free version on GOG.
The wonderfully original Trine has now been upgraded to incorporate the graphics capabilities of the beautiful Trine 2's game engine, perfecting the already lovable gaming experience that is Trine.
Great gameplay, unforgettable soundtrack, and awe inspiring art style.
You get sucked into a beautiful world where you need to fight enemies and solve puzzles tied to the environment. The fights are pretty basic and the puzzles are a bit easy, probably because they need to be solved no matter how you upgraded your characters along the way.
*Editors' Choice*
Pros: beautiful artwork, beautiful music.
Cons: easy puzzles.
Pretty good!
Rating: sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Trine is a side-scrolling action platform/puzzle game developed by Frozenbyte, originally released in 2009. A remake of Trine called Trine: Enchanted Edition was released. It ports the game to the Trine 2 engine and adds online multiplayer.
The gameplay consists of controlling and switches between three different characters (a wizard, a thief, and a knight) to try to complete levels filled with enemies, lots of great puzzles and many secret treasures. There is also a experience system that is shared among all characters, and is incremented by acquiring bottles found throughout levels. Every 50 experience points, each character is given one point towards the purchase of upgrades to their abilities.
After so many years this is still one of the best local/online co-op experiences I've seen. Due to the enhanced edition upgrade, the game still looks good (#1, #2) and sounds amazing, just listen to the soundtrack.
