Game is short?

Me and two friends play alot of coop-games, SoM, Castle Crashers, Affordable Space Adventures and of couse, we played Trine. First two games were really good and challenging on hardest difficulty. The third one was boring... so boring, that we didn't even finish the few hours it apparently lasts. The third dimension isn't implemented well, the new puzzles feel heartless and overall, the world and the gameplay mechanics don't feel polished at all. Almost like the developers had no clue of what to do with this new 3D-enviroment. If you haven't played Trine 1 or 2, get one of those. If you already completed those two, look somewwhere else, because this game isn't worth your time or money.

Trine 3

A lot of people seemed to have problems with the game, but my opinion is very different. I loved the new direction of 3D game. We played it in coop in 3. We encountered a few bugs (which is more than other episodes of trine) but not too many, and maybe only once or twice we had to reload. I really loved the 3d combat, especially the final boss!

Way better than the reviews say

Sure there's some jankyness to the physics and there are some problems with the depth (you can fall of platforms in front or in the back), but the game is a lot of fun and if you liked Trine 2 the 3d really brings more depth – in gameplay. If you bought the bundle and liked the previous games, try it!

Unfinished game or tech demo?

The game starts quite nicely. Colorful world, pretty graphics, funny protagonists. But it becomes quickly apparent that it is unpolished. The jump into 3D was a very bad decision - especially with the imprecise controls. The protagonists lost some of their abilities from the previous games and the game focuses more on battles and less on puzzles. But all that doesn't make the game bad. The controls make it mediocre, but still somewhat enjoyable, once you got the hang of them. And that's when the game ends. Abruptly. The devs ran out of money and just published the incomplete work they had at that point. So, in scope this 'game' is just a tech demo for an ill advised 3D sequel to two awesome 2D games. Advice: if you are a fan of the previous two Trine games, replay them instead. This game won't provide any resolution of the story whatsoever. If you don't know the previous games, play them instead. And if you didn't like the previous games, you will surely hate this one. Only get this if you absolutely want to get everything related to Trine or if you have too much money and don't mind spending money on a two hour demo.
