Remastered with love

Remastering old games is a bit of a hit and miss. This one is a hit, and I can't think of a better love letter to the original games. It reminds me of the Command & Conquer remaster from a few years back: the original engine is there, only visually upgraded. And if you want, you can go back to the classic look. And it contains pretty much everything you could hope, i.e. the original games and the expansion packs. For someone who grew up with the Tomb Raider games, this strikes a nostalgic nerve in a good way. And having never managed to get the TR:UB extra levels working with 3D acceleration, this has some extra content even for a hardcore fan like me. Sure, there are some glitches that the remaster does not fix (like the camera at times), and we could use some quality of life improvements (like autosaving at the start of each level in TR1). Overall highly recommended.

A wonderful remake

The original version is great, but this remake is second to none! And it works on Linux as well! The original version didn't work on Linux at all, but all three parts seem to work perfectly in this system.

Fantastic Collection But...

I have been a Tomb Raider fan since 1996, and I DO love these remasters. My only real gripe is the "Modern Controls" actually make the game WORSE! They lack the basic necessary functions to navigate many of the puzzles and traps. And that could have been mitigated simply by making hop-backs, backflips, and walking backwards possible. As frustrating as "Tank Controls" can be, at least they were designed for this game's grid-structure. IDK why they bothered with the modern controls if they weren't even going to be compatible with the game's design. For that reason it gets a star off. Save yourself the hassle and just keep Tank Controls on.

Way better than i thought

Held on buying this untill sthis 50% off price tag. I thought it was just better textures and that it could run on modern hardware. Was very suprised on the product when i started playing. The modern controls is really great, the texture, lightning and new models (not only the character models) all look great and dont take away anything from the old games. Would had been worth it full prce, but the screenshots and description did not do the game justice.

Modern controls my "behind"

I never liked Tank-controls. i found them extremely awkward and clunky, just not, what I like. So I bought this game thinking, that the modern controls will help me. I was wrong. They suck. Really hard. What adds insult to injury is, that the tutorial refers to console-controls, like "Use the D-Pad!" and stuff like that. Even thoughj I was never a fan of tank-controls, I know Laras move-set. I tried to replicate all the moves via the modern controls and...I just can't. This is a game, that requires rather precise movement at certain points and the modern controls kinda make it even harder, than before. For me, this game is unplayable.
