Game removed entire minigame right before release and censored intro. Buyers were not informed of this until release and this is after claiming it was unsensored and preorders were taken. I can't support a product that is censored let alone one that didn't openly inform the buyers before purchase. This is beyond disapointing coming from EAS.
Eastasiasoft purposely neglected informing us that the game was censored before the game released, IF they make an official statement and restore the missing content before the 30 day refund period ends I will gladly keep supporting them as their (previous) anti-censorship stance seemed to be the gold standard for the industry, otherwise this will be the last game I purchase from them
While all they did was remove a minor feature from the game, they also never mentioned it anywhere before the release of the game. The backlash could've been less if they were up front about it, but I could be totally wrong. People just don't like when they don't have a complete version of something, that was already complete, especially since it wasn't told before purchase.
The game is fine, a bit heavy on the dialogue and encounters. But the price in my opinion is far too much, for an incomplete port of a vita game, it should be at most $30. $40 is the same price (I think) of the original vita version (uncensored also), so they expect us to pay the same price for less content, Idea Factory/Compile Heart should be ashamed.
If they said that there was gonna be a patch or something in the near future, that would literally solve the problem. But they haven't said anything since, so yea, people are mad. To be honest I might refund the game also if they don't patch it or anything.
Full disclosure, I have not purchased this game on GOG yet. I was planning to after my next paycheck. I have purchased the Switch version though, which is supposed to be identical in terms of content.
The censorship situation is not great. I like EAS and I trust that they probably did the best they could in the situation they had, but it doesn't change the fact that the game was censored and we were not informed beforehand. Being EAS, I assumed a regular no cut content release. That is not the case unfortunately.
Please revise the game to be uncensored, at least on GOG. Fix the cutscene, add back in the mini game, and anything else that was altered. It will be an instant purchase for me, an easy 5 star review, and every one wins. If you could even release a separate patch to fix the issue, that would be acceptable. Not as great as restoring the game itself, but at least it's a work around.
