An evil demoness founded a cult dedicated to exploring evil in its most elemental forms. This cult was based in a temple just outside the village of Hommlet in a vile shire known as Nulb. Soon, this cult rose to rule the region with tyranny and grim times of chaos and violence ensued. Hard-fought battles were waged and the war was eventually won by the good armies of nearby lands. The temple was razed, the villains were imprisoned, and order was restored. The temple itself faded into distant memory. Until now...

use to love it but this version sux
Awfully hard to review something if you cant start it. Tried to intialize a problem ticket, but I cant get it to send, so nothing else to say, entirely unplayable

Broken Even with Co8 Mega-Mod
This title is SO frustrating. It is beautiful to behold. The GUI was masterful for its day, but the title is broken without mods and even with the All Sacred "Circle of 8" mod. It is MERCILESS. One can't even properly rest a party before it is ambushed. This occurs long BEFORE you even reach the temple. I dearly want to love this game, but it is a slog, and that's regardless of how tactically minded one is. You can prepare for every contingency, but it won't matter. Something will appear to utterly surprise you, and one won't be able to pivot in time to counter. Do yourself a favor, get Low Magic Age instead. It is nowhere near the graphical fidelity of ToEE, but it gives you a fighting chance, where your decisions DO matter. It is thus fun and rewarding. This game, modded up to the hilt or not, is not that. Stay away.

I tried to like it
I really wanted to love this game but the crazy lucky/unlucky streaks I kept hitting made it very unenjoyable. Get utterly wrecked, reload and use the EXACT same strategy and it's a cakewalk because of weird rolls.
