Fun building game
This game can be a lot of fun, played with friends on LAN, but it shows software is a bit outdated. It works fine as long as you keep in mind never to switch to windows from the game, once you do, game doesnt come back and host computer sees you disconnected. Thats the major flaw, otherwise it really is a decent, likeable and relatively peaceful building strategy you can play with your kids.

childhood nostalgia
If I had to pick my favourite game of my entire childhood this would probably be it. I remember learning about this game at a local gaming expo about half a year before it was released and I immediately wanted the game. I played through the campaign multiple times and spent lots of time playing multiplayer, mostly unable to communicate with others because I didn't know any English back then. I was around ten at that time and my parents restricted gaming time really strictly so I had to safe my time during the week to play multiplayer on Saturday because of the match times of up to 2 hours, still it was totally worth it. For me the game had a perfect mixture of city building, fighting and exploring. I never again enjoyed a strategy game as much as I did enjoy rise of an empire.

Not so great game as it seams on 1 look.
The most problematic is game's engine that can destroy your graphic card tring needlessly generate hundreds of fps (yes that game doesn't have vsync). So if you want play I suggest cap limit fps in Nvidia/AMD panel for this title turning forced vsync. You think about some realism but for strange reason all Settlers magically recived all needed tools. Also placing walls is inconvinient.

Fun game
First time playing this game, wasn't sure what to expect but ended up having lots of fun. Each mission has a associated story so you're not just mindlessly doing stuff. The game is pretty easy though.

Best Settlers
The story missions and maps vs ai are really great. In my opinion it is one of the best if not the best Settlers till now.
