You will not regret playing this game...
This is my ALL TIME favorite game. The story is what shines here. I replay it at least once a year. Dreamfall is the squeal, so play that after you play this. Funcom really needs to make a conclusion to this story.

Life changer
This game is the most memorable title i ve ever player.I have it in CD/DVD forms and i carry them with me whenever i go with my laptop.The Longest Journey changed my life as a gamer and made me love the adventure games since then. A true masterpiece,one of the kind.DONT miss it.

One of the best..
...adventures I've played so far. Great story, not frustrating, nice graphics and voice acting and a good atmosphere. Still, there are a few things I disliked. The dialogues are often waaaaay too long as well as the "travel" times from one place to another.

Atmospheric
The atmosphere in this game is, quite frankly, something I have never since encountered in any game I have played. The feeling of being in a living, breathing world is constantly there, for every new place you encounter. If the atmosphere was not already enough to make it a great game, the story itself surely will. I sincerely hope that one day, I will come across another game like this one.

Classic point-and-click
The Longest Journey is probably the epitome of the classic point-and-click adventure game. Everything seems to go well and in just the right way. The puzzles are mostly fair and doable. The graphics are very good. The story is that of April Ryan who is an art student in the future. She discovers the ability to travel between dimensions and must do so to fulfill her adventure and her destiny. There is a great mythology within one of the dimensions that adds a lot of depth to that part of the story. This game has elements of science fiction as well as fantasy. Probably one of my favourite parts of the game is breaking into and exploring a castle that is hovering in mid-air.
