Anyone else having problem with the game purchase ?
I bought the anniversay edition but it shows as special edition in my game library.
And the automated help desk doesn't really answer my question
I've been playing Bethesda games for years. I purchased Skyrim on Steam for $20 CAD. That was more than enough for me. Skyrim has been out since 2011. Skyrim has made more than its fair share of money back. I think it's pretty nuts that Bethesda is asking $60 for a game that is a) profitable and b) 11 years old. Far be it for me to make value judgments on video games. Everybody has their own metrics for what is and what is not worth paying for in a game. Personally, I think it's pretty ridiculous to pay anywhere close to this much for this kind of game. Frankly, at this point, Skyrim should come free with Windows with how many times it's been reissued. But again - charging $60 for a game that's still buggy and broken as hell 11 years after its release? Pardon me but I think that's more than just a little insulting. New Vegas is currently on GOG for $7.29 - regular price $21.99. And New Vegas is significantly better. It's absolutely wild that Bethesda would try to sell this game for that price after this time. I paid $20 on Steam and that was more than enough. But trying to convince me that $20 should be the in-market sale price is pretty funny when it's fundamentally broken.
Anyway, long story short, I can no longer get my money back from Steam for Skyrim over this insult no matter how much I wish I could. Spend your money on anything else - like Donald Duck: Going Quackers, Dark Souls 3 or a god damn cup & ball.
Not much else to say. I mean, there are always people that don't like something that you do. The same applies to Skyrim. But if you are only a little interested in an open world action rpg set in a dark and moody world, with almost total freedom in what you can do and where to go/ explore, you must at least try this. Plus, there are thousands of mods available. So no matter what you may think could have done better, you'll probably find a mod somewhere that adds what you are looking for.
Modding this version of the game will take a while as no one knew this was happening until it did. What i mean is currently as of today this game runs ok but applying important or fun mods is almost impossible atm. If you want skyrim without mods then great otherwise we'll have to wait for modders to update their projects to fit this version of the game.....
Even I already possess LE with all DLCs, Special Edition with anniversary updates on Steam, I bought again.
Yes basically Todd made me to buy Skyrim once more.
Joke aside, since it is DRM-free, as other games on GOG, it works really good. Starts faster, You don't need to run Steam, most of mods including SKSE plugins support GOG Skyrim too. So if you have any plan to mod this game heavily don't worried about the compatibility. (Unlike Windows store and Epic Store version especially)
Also you are a hacker who interested making SKSE plugins, the binary is not packed and do no any shenanigan so it is really easy to attach debugger/disassembler to write SKSE plugins.
10/10 would buy it again.
And I would be really happy to buy again if Fallout 4, Starfield and TES 6 gets released on GOG.
