Susan Ashworth, known in her neighbourhood as the crazy Cat Lady, is a lonely 40-
year old on the verge of suicide. She has no family, no friends and no hope for a
better future. One day she discovers that five strangers will come along and change everything. But those five, "The Parasites", are also the most ruthless, deranged and cold-blooded bunch of psychopaths the city has ever known. They will stop at nothing to hurt Susan. Unless, she hurts them first...
Susan's few weeks journey doesn't take her across the world and won't turn her into a
hero. She has little faith in others and hardly even cares about herself. She can't fight
and has never fired a gun in her life. But she's hanging onto that thin thread of hope, that in the end, as promised, there's an elusive reward waiting for her. Something worth trying for. Something that'll help her find an unlikely friend. Something that'll give her life a purpose. Susan's journey takes her on a roller-coaster ride between the world of the living and the world of the dead, where the only way to survive is to overcome her biggest weakness: her own self.

Playing through this game was an interesting and weird experience. There are many things happening in this game one wouldn't expect. It doesn't hold anything back. It is a very dark story and cruel so if you can't stand that this isn't for you.
The voiceover is good and fits very well.
There are some puzzles that can be a bit tricky to solve.
Visually things work out well.
This game isn't for everybody as it is a slow story telling, puzzle solving game with more disturbing visuals then scary.
I enjoyed playing through it.
Wow, I just finished The Cat Lady. Went into completely blind and had no idea it played like a point & click adventure game. I had a fantastic time. The voice acting and sound was very well done for an indie team. Both did a great job to suck me into the world and made me empathize and appreciate Sarah's arc. One of the best adventure games I've played. I'm honestly surprised it's not a more household name.
This is one of the darkest and most atmospheric, story-rich, madhouse of an adventure game to ever be created. It is a surreal experience that I would strongly recommend to any newcomer or veteran of the genre. It is, simply put, a masterpiece. Oh, and that soundtrack..
The Cat Lady is a PnC tale of horror and suspense. The controls are simple enough for the most casual players, without any hot key memorization. The puzzles aren't overwhelming. Nothing is hidden away in a pixel hunt. With all that being said...
The storyline itself is simply amazing. The game plays out like an interactive novel with extensive dialogue exchange. Parts of the story you can write as you feel fit, while other parts have your fate predetermined. Not knowing which parts creates a suspense of making a... Correct decision. You'll have to earn the trust of some, while you may want to be careful who you lie to, and how. Attention to detail is rewarded. There are some shock horror scenes too, but they pale in comparison in terror when you have to make a decision between bad and worse.
I do have to give a heads up for the more casual players. This game earned a legit +18 age requirement. I'm not saying it is law to be obeyed, but rather the content is very intense. Graphic violence/brutality, gore, anatomically correct human dissection, animal abuse/brutality, sexual situations, nudity, drug and alcohol use/abuse, judgmental clowns, and a recommended firm grasp of the Oxford English language. Seriously. I love the horror genre, but wow. This game is truly made me squirm just a bit. That being said, you know you need to play through it at least once.
I have never felt like this about a game. It's hard to put into words, but it just... got me. There is such a profound knowledge of and empathy for people suffering from mental illness on display here. So much kindness on the one hand, so much anger and rage for the systems and individuals taking advantage of and exploiting them. I am in awe.
