Legend foretold it. Prophecies predicted it. Chosen ones chose to believe in it. Now the adventure saga continues. Join Wilbur, Ivo, Nate and Critter in another classic point-and-click adventure in the wicked world of Aventásia. Help them fulfill their destiny. A destiny as yet unwritten.
The Tale
A few years have passed since our heroes heroically defeated the arch-witch Mortroga. And their lives, like the lives of most people in Aventásia, are still in turmoil. The War of the Two Towers is over, but the wounds it left upon the land are still bleeding.
The gnome Wilbur Weathervane is struggling with his new job as a teacher at the reopened School for Wizardry and Witchcraft. His magic wand is having a mind of its own and an assassination plot against the arch-mage overshadows the first democratic elections in Seastone.
Faced with political intrigues that threaten the delicate balance of peace, Wilbur is in dire need of his old friends. But the elf princess Ivo and the adventurer Nate have, after a brief romantic interlude, gone their separate ways.
Ivo has returned to her gilded cage in the elf kingdom, overprotected by her controlling mother.Nate along with his trusty companion Critter has been taken prisoner on the flying island of his arch-enemy the Red Pirate.
But fate does not rest. A darkness has fallen upon the land, or rather, a pinkness. A magic force is turning mighty beasts into fluffy plush puppies and towering castles into oversized dollhouses. Every world needs its heroes. However unlikely they may seem.

I do like this game for graphics, locations, music and continuation of the story. It would be 5/5 if known bugs have been fixed, but they never was. I stuck in the game trying work out the solution when finally I decided search for walkthrought to find out, that I stuck because of the known bug. Obviously over one year is not enough to release a fix! This really take the pleasure of playing down, as every time I stuck for a while I started to wonder if this is another bug or I cannot find out the right solution. At the end I familiar myself first about the known bugs and then continued to play, but this is not what I expected when I paid for this game.
BoUT2 is a cute game, but lacks challenge to the point that it becomes a bit of a chore to play. I can't help but feel it lacks a bit of the charm of the original. The general strategy is to enter a new area, click on everything until it stops reacting, and then use your inventory items on whatever remains - making the gameplay more grindy than puzzling. What puzzles there are tend to be fairly obvious, but I suppose that could make it a good game for kids?
One time, I thought I actually got stuck on a puzzle. I tried for an hour or two, then gave up. I came back to it the next day and did the same. Finally, seeing no options left to try, I swallowed my pride and checked a walkthrough. It turns out that I had done everything right, but the game has a long-standing bug where it gets stuck if you solve the puzzle in a certain order. I had to edit my savegame to avoid starting over from scratch.
So, word to the wary: Place the water wheel BEFORE you insert the balloon, or the game will break.
This is a GEM.The writting is fabulous, the voice acting is superb, the story is very very good with some surprises.Yes there are bugs and i looked at a walkthrough twice because i was not sure if i was missing something or it was a bug.It turned out that one time it was really a bug (the electricity bug as others have mentioned already). But do NOT let that deprive you of the chance to play a GREAT adventure.Did i mention that it is lengthy too?
Anyway i come from the golden age of adventure games where Sierra and Lucas ruled the world. (Just to now the backround of the guy who wrote the review).
This game is a great example of how great, old, funny adventures were made. The characters are all lovely and the script is making fun of all the known epic tales and films.
I've been waiting for this one to go on sale, and when it did I snapped it up. It delivers just as it's meant to...a revisiting of beloved characters, fun story and genuine laugh-out-loud moments. Gameplay is similar to the original, sometimes infuriating, sometimes too easy. There were a couple of almost unforgivably annoying moments when necessary items do not become available until after certain scenes are played, necessitating revisiting areas that you thought were cleaned-out. There was at least one time when a bug prevented an item from showing up as being "collectible" and would never have discovered it except I finally resorted to a walk-through...which I HATE having to do. The biggest downer was having to play as Wilbur, because his bad Scottish accent would grate at me after a few minutes. However, I still merit the game as 5 stars because all the annoyances did not prevent me from enjoying the game and I was solidly entertained for several days; well worth the wait and the money.
