You play as the titular Bard, a roguish, manipulative and lewd songster whose priorities in life are the acquisition of material wealth and carnal pleasures. The Bard's pretty sarcastic by nature, but you get to decide just how scathing he is by selecting 'Nice' or 'Sarky' responses. Watch out you don't get too cocky though; folk you've upset may come back to haunt you.
During his raucous adventures, the Bard recruits a motley band of eccentrics and misfits to help in his ignoble cause. Enemies can be defeated using traditional or magical weapons and you can also use the Bard's dulcet tones to summon creatures. If you're tired of saving humankind or bored of games that take themselves a bit too seriously, The Bard's Tale could very well be for you.

I have played the old Bard's Tale for years. Never got to finish due to going from Amiga to PC, upgrade's etc. Even bought this game to get the old one's. But another upgrade and poof..... Played a little of the new one too, although it is different, I enjoy it also.
The old BT was the number one game of 1986. If you are older you already know what fun it was. I have this game on my android already, but a bit hard on the eyes. This is my first instabuy GOG! Congratulations. Always said it would be.

A game that doesn't take itself seriously, yet doesn't sacrifice game mechanics or anything else.
There's not much more than can be said without going into spoiler-territory, it's just a hilarious and incredibly fun experience.
if you don't play this game. It's the Magicka of 2004, a solid action adventure with gratuitous amount of humor. Your belly will hurt from laughter throughout the whole adventure (it has a pretty good length, too). Can be pretty difficult at times, but that shouldn't stop you from pushing through, it's worth the effort.
A must play unless you hate having fun.
