Cool remake
As above. SS2 is good as-is, especially with SHTUP and other mods, but here there are not only those mods applied by default, but the HUD is scaled up nicely and there's convenient controller support (maybe except saves / better weapon switcher). Totally worth of it, SS2 is one of the best games ever, and this version is accessible not only to hackers.

What a Nostalgic Delight
All the gameplay and action I remember from 25 years ago. If you enjoy immersive sims then this is one of the originals and all the magic that made it great is back. It is amazing after all these years to re-experience System Shock 2 and its never looked better. Congratulations to the remaster team!

Flawed classic, faithfully preserved
Is this just a remaster of the original System Shock 2 from 1999? Yes. Would you get a similar experience playing the original with mods? Also yes. But is it easier now to just boot it up without worrying about modding? Absolutely. Would I have preferred a full remake like what System Shock 1 got in 2023? Of course. Is this game still janky as hell, with weird hitboxes and a game engine that wasn’t really made for shooters? Yes, 100%. But despite all that — is it worth playing? Definitely. System Shock 2 remains one of the OG immersive sims. It laid the groundwork for so many others, and even now, it holds up surprisingly well in terms of atmosphere, design, and the sense of tension and discovery. I really hope we see System Shock 3 someday, because this IP still has so much potential. Just be warned: this is not a casual game. You need to pay attention, navigate maze-like corridors, remember where things are, and maybe even take notes. It’s a very faithful "remaster" that doesn’t sand down all the original’s rough edges. But it’s still fun and rewarding in that old-school way. Highly recommend it for people that know what they're getting into.

Well remastered
A flawless remaster of an all-time classic! It's a joy to be able to play this gem on a modern PC with a widescreen res and sharpened graphics :) Lots of background information available as well like trailers, art, stuff that didn't got implemented, etc. This will sweeten the way for the next step? A remake like with SS1? ;D In any case, thank you Nightdive Studios for this well done remaster!

One of the classics.
While I still would have perferred this game be given the same treatment they gave to the original System Shock, it is good to see this calssic sequal revitalized to work with modern systems.
