The System Shock remake is the best way to play the PC classic, making it an enjoyable first-person experience for the modern age. However, it still clings to some somewhat outdated mechanics that will frustrate newcomers.

Given its development problems, the fact that System Shock is a functional, stable game is a mini-miracle, but by sticking so rigidly to the original's ancient design it will appeal more to series fans than newcomers.

Horrible controls
The obtuse and horrificly designed controls make the game utterly awful.

Discouraging, But I Recommend to play
Hi everyone, In times like these, it's almost a crime to release a game with such an incredible story and amazing graphics, and still present it like an old title — limited by the standards of a past era. This "remix" was made with mistakes that simply shouldn't happen nowadays. I find it hard to believe that no one at Night Dive Studios or Atari speaks Spanish — the fourth most spoken language in the world. And if that's the case, doesn't anyone there know how to use ChatGPT or another AI tool to generate Spanish voice-overs or at least offer a basic language immersion? Especially if you're trying to avoid the cost of hiring a professional studio for localization. So... where exactly is the "remix"? It’s basically the same game with updated graphics. This is neither a remix nor a reimagining — it's more like a graphical upgrade, nothing else. That said, the game itself is great and deserves recognition. Greetings from Spain

Forgettable
Nightdive's remake completely fails to capture even a hint of the magic of the original. A distracting pseudo-pixelated aesthetic, forgettable music, cramped level design, soulless combat, and an absolutely infuriating interface all combine to make this a total disappointment. Stick with the Enhanced Edition.

Great game marred by a lame ending
I enjoyed playing this to the end but was very disappointed by the lame ending. The end seems rushed and underwhelming, the original System Shock 2 was way better, they could have at least tried to replicate that imho.
