Gentle farewell and visual masterpiece. Lovely story with friendly pacing and a but stubborn controls (on gamepad). Please try and enjoy this crown jewel of adventures. Your Saga begins now...
Firstly, my computer hardware configuration is not very good. So I completed the game in 20-40FPS.
Advantages:
+ Perfect restart of the work.
As my title suggests, it's not so much the fourth part as a tribute to the first one.
+ To some extent, it has improved and transformed the uncomfortable operation of the third part, laying the foundation for subsequent works.
+ Beautiful visuals
Turning point:
± The direction of the narrative mode has shifted to a focus on the plot and a mild decryption.
± The title of the game 'Syberia' has become somewhat symbolic (after all, the times are advancing)
± Our 'Kate' has transformed from the main body of the story to some kind of 'key', although I can understand that this can reduce the restrictions on subsequent works
Defects:
-Language localization is not very good (for example, "mechanical" people translate into robots)
I'm a big fan of click-and-point adventure games. This game is unbearable with unskippable long cutscenes and dialogues, which makes it so boring! It is a deal breaker, not to mention the forced politics of a certain group on players.
What could be a good game ruined by not allowing cutscenes and dialogues to be skippable like in any other game in the world.
I am not even going to waste precious time to repeat what all the other one-two star reviews have told already about this piece of cringe for ignorant and brainwashed target audience.
But beware, this so-called game literally promotes stupidity. I felt how my intelligence is getting lower while playing this somewhat interactive press-to-continue movie. It felt like its made for 12-year old audience be it not for the fact that the themes are very political and otherwise empty - insert your favorite buzzword from woke/lgbti+/decolonization.
Literally. I probably played 10/15 minutes, but it took 3.45 hours. Slow. Unskippable. SLOW. SLOOOOOOW.
The player so far cannot fail (so far), so there is no gameplay.
They removed the gameplay and kept the story.
It's a game-movie, that combines the two in the worst possible way: as a movie, it pauses for me to move the mouse around. as a game, all I do is moving the mouse around for a minute before starting another movie section.
No, thanks. No.
I would like to see how the story ends, but I really cannot force myself to click and slide another whatever, or fight the camera to go in the only possible direction, that is behind the current camera position.
