Stronghold Crusader HD

While I prefer the castle style of SH 1, SH Crusader is the last of the SH games that, IMO is really enjoyable. SH2 got fairly deep into micromanagement. Never did quite figure out SH Legends. And, if I could get SH3 to actually run without crashing, it might be interesting. Never got into SHC - Extreme for some of the reasons I didn't like SH Legends. I have yet to find an AI enemy that could not be destroyed purely by arabian horse archers. About 150 of them will take down nearly any castle's defenders, and cripple the workforce through indirect fire. Add some catapults to take a wall portion down, and you speed up the process of killing the lord.

The Definitive Stronghold Game, don't ever buy another, except maybe the first one in HD, but not a one after that you hear me? Not a one.

this is an amazing game, but it is very differant from other rts games so you have to get used to it. only things i would change about are to make it less complex to get supplies, and add a peace mode where you focus on economy and diplomacy and whatnot, and only use a military to defend agianst barbarians and people you declare war on (like civ v)

I've had this game since it came out. I wasn't much into it until I learned some tactics via friends and created my own African style maps. This game is good, but I think you should get the remake that allows more units on screen and adds new ones. Decent interface, average A.I., and easy to use controls make this game really good. An 8 out of 10 in my opinion.

I really liked Crusader when I owned it a few years ago but the disc got messed up. Very glad to see it on this site, and there's several more I've seen that I'll be dling soon. Thanks to you, people who run this site. Any chance we can get some QFG games on here?
