What is there to say about Stardew Valley that hasn't been said? It's the spiritual successor for Harvest Moon and one of the games that inspired the "cozy" genre, it's approachable as a farming sim with some light 2d action rpg elements and a dating sim mixed in. Whilst this approachability is great, its also Stardew Valley's biggest weakness, you'll find after getting to about mid-game the low difficulty and expectations encourages you to find your own fun, which might prove difficult and you could (like me) get burnt out because of the lack of a clear end-game with any significant difficulty change in the combat or in the farming system (closest difficulty change is plants you need to plant for multiple seasons and more enemies to fight, a task largely simplified through unlocks); fortunately Stardew Valley is extremely mod-friendly and the modding community is massive so you'll always find something to help prevent some of the burn-out and expand the lacking end-game. Overall I'd say Stardew Valley is worth getting if not just to see a piece of the modern "cozy" genre and for its mod support, though you might find vanilla somewhat better than I do if you take a slower pace through the game and embrace its main two mechanics, farming and dating the other residents of the valley.

I've had the game for two years. It just got another major content update. If you have ever enjoyed Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, or Farming Simulator, this will make you happy.

Lost patience with this title during my first playthrough, when my character collapsed two inches from his front door, unconscious. Why? Because of an arbitrary time limit on his day's activities. Alright, so a lot of work went into creating a good world atmosphere (nostalgic apparently, I have never played Harvest Moon or the like) but time limits are an almighty turn-off for this player. Buy if you like ... Harvest Moon, I suppose.

Stardew Valley it's like Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, but have its own nature. You moved to our grandfather's farm to be far from the stress of the big city. Four seasons to do wathever you want to do: explore, fish, crafting, do mining and of course farming. There are many many things to do, you can choose your objectives. Also, you have to meet the citizens of the village and maybe marry someone. Stardew Valley is a little town but each villager have a story, and not always a happy one... They maybe surprise you. These affects your gameplay, too. It's beautiful: each season have its colours, designs and music. And it's addictive. Be careful, and enjoy it.

This game has beautiful graphics and lots of little details. The game loop of working on your farm each day is fun, relaxing, and addictive. There are other fun activities like fishing and mining (with some combat) that adds variety. There seems to be a lot of progression, with upgrades to tools, farm, and home. My only complaint is the controller support is not great, the game is very much designed for keyboard and mouse, controls are similiar to Factorio.
