It is a time of great rejoicing in the galaxy. Luke Skywalker, with the help of Wedge Antilles, has blown up the Death Star. But there is little time to celebrate. The mighty Empire is gathering strength for a determined, all-out assault on the Rebel forces.
To save the Rebel Alliance from this Imperial onslaught, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles have assembled the Rogue Squadron, a group of twelve of the most skilled battle-tested starfighter pilots. You will fly into battle as Luke Skywalker, to engage in intense, fast-paced planetary air-to-ground and air-to-air missions ‒ dogfights, search and destroy, reconnaissance, bombing runs, rescue assignments, and more.
Take on the Galactic Empire in X-wings, Y-wings, A-wings, V-wings, and snowspeeders.
Prove you’ve got what it takes against a slew of the Empire’s best and baddest, including AT-AT walkers, AT-STs, TIE fighters and more.
Test your flying skill through extraordinary environments ‒ over water, through canyons, deserts, and volcanic regions.
Astonishing 3D details include real time lighting and special effects (explosions, smoke, engine glow, tracer fire and more).

Spent many hours trying to get better medals and finishing the missions! Loved the ships and the battles...wish they made the second one for PC as well, thanks gog you rock!!
Despite reading reviews warning me, I took a gamble and paid the price for it. The game launches and then crashes to desktop immediately. There are possile fixes for this but I cannot be bothered with this faff given that I've paid for a functioning game so have just asked for a refund. Very disappointing.
...based on nostalgia alone? I don't own the GOG version, and I don't know how it performs. I played it on the N64 when It was released ages ago and loved it. 5 Stars. But isn't it important to know how this version of the game performs? Check the wishlist for "Reviews should state whether or not they're based on the GOG version" by MikeFE, or my own "Review Filters" and vote!
Sorry about that, but I think it's important, And now a short review based off of my hazy recollection: Action packed and simple. As a preteen I didn't have the patience for flight sims, but loved the concept of dogfighting with lasers in space. This game let me jump right in and get blasting. The setting is mostly planetside, which means you get to visit colorful Star Wars locations, but don't spend much time in the emptiness of space. Myself, I quite enjoy the abyss, but the planetside missions take full advantage of the Star Wars license. Intuitive and responsive controls,
...let's hope GOG ensures the same quality experience we remember.
Even if you manage to get this game running, it barely functions. The camera has a permanent fish-eye filter, making it nauseating to even look at. The controls have nearly a full second of input delay, making even the simplest tasks basically impossible. There's an option in the menu for joypad controls, but binding inputs on any xinput device is broken because the game can't tell that a 50.0 trigger input (aka not pressing L2 or R2 at all) isn't an active input, so it's not possible to bind any button or action. A complete letdown. Save your money, play something else.
