One blast from destruction, the U.S.S. Voyager is mysteriously transported into a hull space infested with danger. As part of Voyager's elite Hazard Team, you must defend it from a host of scavenging aliens, then infiltrate a Borg Cube and derelict vessels to eradicate your deadly foes. The Quake III Arena™ engine powers the dynamic gameplay as you fight for survival through 40 ultra-intense single-player missions and 16 multiplayer arenas. It's first-person shooter action that won't quit. But, be prepared-if Voyager is destroyed, humanity won't be far behind...
Fight along side crewmembers with the additional of Icarus AI, an enhancement to the Quake III Arena™ engine that allows for extraordinary team interaction.
Nine weapons-each with two firing modes-gives you eighteen different attack options. That means the firepower will be there when you need it most.
Multiplayer modes offer Free-for-All, Capture the Flag and breathless Team play.
Corridors collapse, walls explode, and enemies materialize right in front of you.
Includes the Star Trek™: Voyager - Elite Force Expansion Pack.
Good times all around! Navigate to the game installation folder and use the HM icon to run the multiplayer mode, Holomatch! The expansion added a lot of great maps and game modes.
I decided to revisit a number of id Tech 3 engine games recently since one of my all time favs is American McGee's Alice. I was surprised to see a Star Trek game on the engine - and produced by Raven Software, no less! So, I watched a few episodes of Star Trek to become familiar with the universe and then dived into the game. While I do appreciate that they captured the feel of the show (which I still can't honestly say I've ever cared for), the game has just been a boring slog for the first hour or so. In that regard, it feels just like Star Trek to me. If you're already a Trekkie, you'll gush over this game regardless of its faults. If you're just someone looking for a hidden gem, bygone FPS, I'd move along to something else instead.
Instant buy FOR SURE!!! AWSOME GAME!!! RAVEN SOFTWARE IS NEXT TO ID SOFTWARE TOP TIER FPS DEV. SAD THEY HAVE TO DO COD MULTIPLAYER. WE NEED THEM BACK CREATING SINGLEPLAYER GAMES LIKE THIS OR JEDI KNIGHT 2 OOUTCAST. (havent played COD COLDWAR yet, but heard the singleplayer is good and developed by them). Next game to get back "Enter the Matrix" & "Path of Neo" PLEASE!!!
This brings back memories of one of the first video games I played with my Dad. Curious tho... it says it comes with the multiplayer maps, but my game doesn't seem to and the capture the flag was my favorite part. :(
if you can forgive the graphics after 23 years. I liked the story pretty much and there are a lot of nice mechanics/game elements which i miss in current gen shooters.
Story can be an epsiode of voyager. I liked it and may start to watch the series again.
The only thing which was a liitle bit annoying is, that your mates always run into your line of sight :)
