One blast from destruction, the U.S.S. Voyager is mysteriously transported into a hull space infested with danger. As part of Voyager's elite Hazard Team, you must defend it from a host of scavenging aliens, then infiltrate a Borg Cube and derelict vessels to eradicate your deadly foes. The Quake III Arena™ engine powers the dynamic gameplay as you fight for survival through 40 ultra-intense single-player missions and 16 multiplayer arenas. It's first-person shooter action that won't quit. But, be prepared-if Voyager is destroyed, humanity won't be far behind...
Fight along side crewmembers with the additional of Icarus AI, an enhancement to the Quake III Arena™ engine that allows for extraordinary team interaction.
Nine weapons-each with two firing modes-gives you eighteen different attack options. That means the firepower will be there when you need it most.
Multiplayer modes offer Free-for-All, Capture the Flag and breathless Team play.
Corridors collapse, walls explode, and enemies materialize right in front of you.
Includes the Star Trek™: Voyager - Elite Force Expansion Pack.
If you are into any of the star trek Franchise then Elite Force and Elite Force II are worth a visit at some point.
Graphics are quite Dated now, but Gameplay and story are still good. 7.5/10
The game play is simple and straight forward. The game is consistent in itself. It's starting a bit boring, but it's getting better and better with time. Even I'm no big fan of this Star Trek stuff, the game was quite entertaining.
I had a great time playing through this again for the first time in over 20 years. The story is engaging and the presence of the full Voyager TV cast really helps the immersion. The 'Hazard Team' introduces new characters who also offer interesting personalities. There is plenty of variety in the missions, weapons and enemies. In fact I can't really think of anything I don't like about this game, except the sometimes janky AI which is more a sign of its age than any sort of criticism.
I enjoy this game, I think it's well done, you get to hear the real actors voicing their lines, and the gameplay is fun, even if it's not doing anything special. But to review this game, I need to put my personal bias aside and discuss the game for what it is, a well done FPS that doesn't do anything special.
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is a competently created FPS game that is more interested in making you feel like you're a part of voyager than being an intense or creative game. This isn't a bad thing, but you'll get more out of this game if you're a fan of Voyager than if you're a fan of FPS games.
The guns and gunplay are competent, there are no glaring issues with any piece of the gameplay, and it's fun to play, but it's not very challenging and it lacks true diversity in its environments and enemies. While in many missions you will have an array of companions, enemies more or less ignore them and are almost unharmed by them. This becomes extremely noticeable in close quarters because the enemies will beeline it to you and only attack you (unless scripted otherwise). The levels are simple, but easy to navigate, and there are secrets to find, but you won't be getting any DOOM or Half-Life style levels that require intricate platforming or puzzle solving.
