The game is a satirical comedy of the fantasty adventure genre but the jokes can come off as shallow. My friend watching me play described it like Goat Simulator and it's kind of the collectathon adventure game version of that I suppose. Reminds me of something between Stanley Parable and Medieval. If that sounds fun I say go for it, but if you're looking for something serious and that description puts you off from the game you're likely to dislike it.
Once you get used to the game mechanics, you will stop getting frustated and will enjoy more the puns, which this game has a lot. Very nice game, do recommend for everyone who likes Action adventure games.
Overall this title was a nice experience: the gameplay was pretty straightforward and fluid; there were a lot of jokes, funny references, and out of the ordinary stuff.
My main issues with this game were the REPETITIVENESS, BUGS, and the BOSSES.
1. About the repetitiveness, many dungeons and secret rooms were a copy/paste of others with minor
changes; the spawns of wheels of cheese followed the same logic, and they weren't interesting or
ingenious enough; the amount of puzzles was basically 2 but repeated and scattered all over the
map;
2. I had multiple bugs that made the experience a bit frustrating: I went out of the borders of the map
(some enemies too) multiple times, and I had to reload the last saved game; sometimes, the enemies
inside the dungeons didn't spawn, making me load the last save in order to 100% the dungeon;
3. The bosses were too easy and basic; they had no special moves or other gimmicks to make the
experience more challenging, and you will most likely beat all of them at your first attempt.
I'd still advise to play this title because of its goofiness, and we can clearly tell this game has not been made to be taken seriously.
Personal vote: 7/10.
There's a lot of neat things in here with great storywriting and clever lines and a lot of non serious elements. The physics of the game and the frustrating deaths however really get a bit too much at times really hindering the willingness to play. Platforming needs refinement as it's quite loose, which can be manipulated but also a detriment when there's incredibly difficult and annoying.
It's fun in short spurts but overall I may have a hard time finishing the game due to the frustrating combat and jumping sections, which is a lot.
